A Surviving World before Time: The New Sea Slices dividing Europe from Asia.

Several Millions of years ago, There were two Seaways known as the Turgai strait and Sarmartian sea that existed. In our timeline, They fluxated throughout the cretaceous and effectivly split Europe from ancient Siberia. The Sarmartian sea extended from The very tip of Xinjiang to the Adriatic sea, whilst the Turgai strait extended Throughout the Northern caspian and Tethy's sea all the up north to the Arctic sea. For Millennia, Europe was its own true continent similarly to India before asian collision.

They Later disappeared following several climate and Teutonic events. Today, the Turgai strait remnant lies within the Turgay depression and Turgay Rivers in Northern Kazakhstan. The Samartian sea remnant now lies in the caspians ea, Sea of Azoz, Black sea, The Danube, Aral Sea and The Gulf of Ob.

In this world However, That never happens. They Break down and fade away, but never truly disappear the same way they did. The New Azoz Sea floods over the Kuma-Manych Depression and Seperates the Asian Caucasian Regions from Mainland Europe via a Large seaway, formally connecting the Caspian Sea and the Black sea Continuously.

Meanwhile, the Turgai Strait shrinks into becoming the Siberian Strait. Its a short Bosporus-sized seaway flowing northwards from the Caspian sea into the Arctic sea. The Ural Mountains now reside on the Western side of the Strait.

Beyond this, there is little idea on how such developments would impact Eurasian History, Geography, Migrations and Weather of the Region.

Oh, and Crimea is an Island for some reason. It does Kinda look good as one tho....

How do you think this changes things?

How might european history turn out if Europe was seperated from asia by sea's and straits?

Basically sometime in history, The Kuma-Manych depression bursts and floods the region, seperating the north caucasus from russia. Land west of the Urals also flood and Connect the Ob river up north to the caspian sea down south, separating siberia from russia.

The New Siberian sea becomes known as the "Uralic Sea", stretching from the Ob river and Gulf of Ob right down to the caspian sea. The Other sea could possibily be known as the "Kuma-Manych sea" or "Caucasian sea".

The Image i've shown is properly inaccurate to geography since i was using HOI4 Provinces... well anyway. The Strait of Gibraltar and Bosporus strait also still exist.

So, how does this change european history?
