More congested after the sinus rinse?

I am 4 days post op and whenever I do the sinus rinses I get soooo congested after. And it stays! I am am able to breathe in the morning but by 2:00 and doing 2-3 rinses I am back to feeling like my eyes are going to bug out of my head!

Any suggestions? Idk what I could be doing wrong but the rinses are supposed to help with congestion, not induce it!

Her spay is tomorrow 💔

For whatever reason I am absolutely mourning and terrified of her having the surgery tomorrow. I even contemplated canceling several times.

She’s the first pup I’ve had where we delayed spaying. She’s had 1 heat (in Feb) and just turned 1 y/o. Her down time post op is soo long and I am feeling so guilty about doing this to her :(

We have no intention to breed but also I am so in love with her the way she is I feel like I’m “fixing” something that’s already perfect? I’m also so worried about the way her weight and coat will change.

Any supportive insights are welcome ❤️

Post surgery! Thanks for all of your support on my original post!

I posted a few days ago freaking out about my procedure of the septoplasty and turbinate reduction. https://www.reddit.com/r/Septoplasty/s/3NV0Qjekd2

I’m about 3 hours post op now and although obviously haven’t experienced a single positive yet - I am grateful for your guys support!

I am super lucky my surgeon ENT actually uses hallow stints AND doesn’t pack the nasal cavity! What!!!! So although I am navigating some pain and mouth breathing a decent with the mustache gauze I am so so thankful I won’t have to deal with the truck load of congestion feeling people often complain about.

I’ll either update or comment how the next week goes!

Surgery is scheduled for Friday - debating going through

Septoplasty and Turbinate reduction is scheduled for Friday and I am highly considering canceling.

I’ve been watching a few YouTube videos on how recovery is and I don’t like the sounds of it.

I had convinced myself that mine would be EZPZ bc my deviation isn’t toooooo intense but now I’m terrified.

I typically only have one nostril clear to breathe at any given moment, do suffer from seasonal post nasal drip, but don’t have too severe of allergies or get sinus infections often these days. Allergy pills do nothing for me and I have a strong dislike for the nasal sprays.

Can someone talk me in or out of this procedure please? Is it worth it? I’m 30 and will probably move forward in starting to have kids over the next year or so and initially really wanted to have it done before being pregnant or adding kids to the life but now I am not so sure on if it’s worth it.
