3 weeks in to potty training

My son will be 3 in September and we began potty training almost 3 weeks ago. He still wears nappies for nap and bed time but usually he is dry when he wakes up so it’s more of a precaution.
He had mastered the wees after about 3 days and he is delighted with himself! But our problem is with the poos. He will not tell us that he needs to poo until it is too late. We haven’t had any success with them yet. Any advice please??

Flying with Glucose Monitor

Hi all

Going on a weeks holidays this week, I have gestational diabetes so need to bring my glucose monitor. Has anyone ever gone through airport security with one? Do I put it into the scanner or hold it? I should probably get a doctors note too, shouldn’t I?

Witch Hazel post partum

I had heard so many great things about Witch Hazel before having my first child. And truthfully it was the only thing that gave my perineal area immediate relief.
After a couple of days I met with the PHN who told me that Witch Hazel causes infection but I had already used it so much by then that the damage was done. Sure enough I ended up with infection in my stitches.
What I’m confused about is how highly recommended it is if it’s known to cause infection near stitches? Surely it should have said that somewhere 🤣 Did any one else end up with infection in their stitches after using Witch Hazel or was I just unfortunate?

Paint recommendations?

Looking to improve the bay windows in my house. I have 2x west facing bay windows and we had the house painted before moving in. I somehow picked Roman blinds that are too similar in colour. It’s too expensive to change the Roman blinds so I’m looking to paint the walls a different colour. Any suggestions? Should I paint the whole room the same colour or just have around the windows different?

I’m sick of this

I’m 26 weeks this week and was diagnosed with GD at 11 weeks due to history of GD.
I’ll be honest I have been terrible to sticking to this diet. There have been weeks, particularly between 12 and 20 weeks, where I didn’t test at all.
Last time I was diagnosed at 28 weeks so only 12 weeks of the diet and that was tough in itself. I religiously followed the GD diet that time though.
I feel like such a failure, I can’t seem to get my head in to it. I’m just miserable thinking about my sugars all the time. I struggled with restrict/binge eating before this and now I fear it’s gotten worse. I eat some form of a treat every evening, sometimes even a dessert. I’m not on metformin or Insulin.
I haven’t mentioned any of this to my OB because I am so embarrassed.
Only good side is my baby is measuring perfectly, in the 55th percentile in my last scan.
Someone please give me some advice or if someone can relate and didn’t have any issues when baby was born I would love to hear from you.

Booking a short holiday without children?

My husband is 30 in January and I would love to book a few nights away just the two of us before calving season starts as his gift. He LOVES going to Tenerife in January anyway so I think it makes sense that that’s where we go.
At that time we will have a 3.5 year old and 5 month old. Both sets of grandparents are heavily involved and wouldn’t mind taking one child each for those few nights.
I wouldn’t bring the children with us just because of the length of the flight, we always go away for a week in the summer to Spain so they wouldn’t be feeling left out!
Am I mad for even contemplating it? It would be for 3/4 nights maximum. Has anyone done something similar at similar ages?

Hi all,

Not sure if this is the best place to ask this Q. Im currently pregnant with baby #2 and already dreading the postpartum hair loss/regrowth stage.

Did anyone find any products/supplements that helped with regrowth and also how are we taming the baby hairs?

Has anyone used The Smooth Company dream cream before?
