Should I be concerned?

This is Emily Brontë planted bare root in March if this year. Gave a decent flush in the spring but the new growth look like this? Other than the stunted leaves, I don’t see the classic dreaded disease characteristics: excessive thorns, cluster of deformed canes etc. I’m tempted to just pull it out as I have a small garden with tons of roses planted close but I want to hear what you guys think first. Pic 5 I bent the cane so you can see the underside.TIA

Jaqueline Dupré

Maiden bloom on Jacqueline Dupré. I got a little band from High Country in March and here she is. I’ve been waiting for her! 😍

Bliss Parfuma

This plant is constantly in flower. The deer grazes it and it’s unfazed and just pushes new growth. This is the first time I’ve successfully kept them at bay long enough to have this many flowers at once

Unthinkable, but…

If you were only permitted to have 1 (just 1) rose in your garden, which one would you choose and why..(I.e how it makes you feel, how it looks in your garden with other perennials, the fragrance etc..
bonus if you ad a photo of said rose 😊.. go! 🥳

Blooms

Not a great season so far because of a terrible spider mite infestation. Here are a few blooms in spite of them:

- Totally Tangerine
- Rockstar
- And what I hope is Great Silence

More second flush

The standout for me is Boscobel. She has never stopped flowering and the repeat is fast! As soon as I deadhead, I see another few buds. Also impressed with Dannahue. Both planted bare roots in the spring.
Bonus butterflies on echinacea and pugster butterly bush 🦋

Second Flush

Battling deer, thrips, and Japanese beetles ( I sent a 1/2 dozen to their watery grave this evening 😈) I still managed a second flush. The only new addition is Fun in the Sun recently acquired at my local nursery during their July sale.

Kindly show me your…

…Fun in the Sun and Sunbelt Savanah!
I just acquired these 2 roses at my local nursery’s sale. I plan to pot them up as I have not an inch to plant more roses in ground😳
Any experience you can share about them would be appreciated. TIA

So I have to have oral surgery

I’m beyond scared and quite angry. At myself, endocrinologist and dentist.
I have to go on evenity followed by reclast. Went to dentist for clearance, he referred me to endodontist for a root canal that he performed to make sure infection is gone. Well Endo recommends surgery as a large area of 2 teeth is impacted. I’ve been crying since the appointment yesterday and don’t even know which foot to put forward first. Any suggestions, advice you can share would be greatly appreciated. Right now the endo is contacting insurance to see what they will cover. I feel so overwhelmed. Thank you for reading this

Brother Cadfael

I cannot begin to tell you how exquisite is the fragrance on this rose. Might be my favorite scent yet. Planted bare root at the end of March. It is quite a bit of shade and it’s still blooming. I will move her to a sunnier spot in the fall. It is also nearly thornless which is why I put it near a pathway. I can’t wait to see her when she is older and in more sun.

Evenity followed by reclast

I am a little shaken and looking for info. Second dexa in a little over a year show worsened condition. Dr says she wants me to go on evenity monthly for a year and likely followed by reclass every six months for 3 years.
Does this make sense? I know nothing so I’d love to hear experience and what to expect. I don’t even know how to read these properly so if you can put these in layman terms, I would be so grateful.

Here are the results

Succession blooms

I’ve been impatient to get blooms on some roses but I’m so glad they did not all bloom at the same time cause I can prolong my enjoyment of the first flush :

- Munstead Wood
- Alexandra of Kent
- Mill on the Floss

Claire Austin

She is so sweet, very fragrant and nearly thornless. I got her on sale at my local nursery last year. So glad I got her 🥰
