Need help finding my first car at 16!! 🙏🙏

Hey guys, I’m sixteen and due to get my license in October, so i’m starting to window shop for a car. I don’t have super strict criteria, but it’s kind of limiting at the same time because I want a cool looking car. My budget is 10-15K Canadian, I can go over but like I want to stick to that budget so I can save the rest of my funds for insurance and other car stuff. I was thinking something like a Dodge Charger but most of them come at over 150k km mileage (though they have had stuff repaired) but people are saying it kind of sucks to buy used Dodge vehicles at that mileage.

About car insurance, i’ve been shopping around immensely and cuz of my circumstances (being a new driver, young, having no insurance history) and location (we have extreme weather year round and bad road conditions) car insurance ranges from the $500’s to the $700’s per month. I’ve gotten these quotes on cars ranging from beaters, to 2014 Honda Civics, to Dodge Challengers. I’ve accepted that any car I want will cost a lot for insurance and accounted for that in my budget.

Let me know your thoughts and I would love any good car recommendations 😉

Looking for my first car as a 16 year old! Need help

french summer exchange programs for 16-17 year old

hi! i’m from alberta, canada and i’m looking into doing a french immersion/exchange program next summer for around a month. i’m around an a2 level in french rn and i really wanna improve through immersion because literally no one speaks french where i live 😭 i feel like being surrounded by it every day would help way more than just self studying or highschool french class for a semester.

i’m not sure what would be better though. im stuck between doing a full exchange program, or just taking french classes for a month and stay with a host family? to be honest, the second option seems good for learning french, but i feel like it’d be harder to meet people. let me know your thoughts on this! one of my favorite parts of a summer program i did recently was meeting a ton of people from different places, so i’d love something that’s social too.

i’d also love to be able to explore the place i’m visiting on my own and go wherever i want in my free time, not necessarily with intense supervision as it’d feel restrictive to me, i’m used to just going wherever my heart desires 😭

i’m mostly interested in paris, so if anyone has recommendations for programs there (or nearby), i’d love to hear them! i’m also wondering if an exchange would be more worth it than just doing language classes. thanks

My edges..

They’ve never been this bad I swear 😭😭 I almost always have in braids and i’ve been trying to incorporate breaks in between but my mom is very texturist meaning she hates even seeing my hair out 😔 I think they’re taking their toll on my hair. What do I do :(

What I think i’ve been doing differently that may have contributed to this:

- Been slicking my edges down almost daily
- Not been moisturizing them
- Knotless braids putting tension on my scalp

The thing is, my mom forces me to have my hair done at all times NOT BY CHOICE. I’m gonna force her to let me have my hair out for summer idc anymore, but what do I do in the meantime. I DONT WANT TO BE 🧑‍🦲 BY 17 😔 I’ve been babying the rest of the hair on my scalp but I also care about my hairline :/ I have braids in rn.
