Corporate retreat upsets wife.
TLDR: My boss has planned a full paid corporate retrat (more like a vacation for the whole team) to Spain scheduled for the first days of december 2026. He paid plane tickets and hotel reservatios whithout notice and gave us the news as a "surprise" in the office aniversary.
I have NOT told my wife because Im afraird of her past reaction, last year when the corporate retreat was in Whistler.
Last year she got pretty upset, possesive and mad at me for that years corporate retreat and im afraid this one will upset her more.
For context, as a marriage (2 years married) we have traveled quite often (scotland, england, netherlands and we are travelling in late december of this year to Canada) so I dont why she gets all worked up and upset about these forced corporate retreats. Its no like we (as a cuople) dont get to travel or expierence similar things together.
In addition, my coworkers and me are your tipical nerds that do not club, go out, flirt or get drunk, we just tourist and (safely) goof arround.
I dont Know what to do, need advice. I will very much aprecciate your insight in the situation.
