ABBV or CVX for my next position?

I'm 54 and looking to add one more individual dividend stock to the portfolio.

ABBV caught my attention for the healthcare exposure and dividend, while CVX would add more energy exposure and income.

Which one would you pick today?

Thoughts on ET for dividend income?

ET keeps coming up when I look at higher-income investments. The yield looks great, but I'm still trying to figure out how comfortable I'd be holding it long term.

For those who own ET, has it been worth the higher income?

If you could only keep 3 dividend holdings, what would they be?

I'm curious what your top 3 dividend holdings would be if you were starting from scratch today.

For me, it'd probably be PG, ABBV, and PEP.

What's your top 3?

Looking at WEYS instead of NKE?

A few days ago I asked what everyone thought about Nike since I was thinking about starting a position.

While looking for alternatives, Weyco Group (WEYS) caught my attention. It's obviously a much smaller company, but financially it seems to be in a pretty good place.

What do you think about WEYS? Or is there a better option?

What do you think about Nike (NKE)?

Nike has been on my watchlist for a while.

The stock is well below its highs, the dividend keeps growing, and it's still one of the strongest brands in the world. On the other hand, growth has slowed and the turnaround could take time.

Anyone buying NKE here, or are you staying away?

August is shaping up to be my biggest dividend month so far 💪

PG, ABBV, ABT, TXN, CL and KMI are all paying next month.

Everything is still being reinvested for now. The goal is to slowly build this up to $2,000 a month in dividend income.

Anyone else looking forward to a strong August?

My dividend income has stalled. What would you change?

I'm 54, and retirement is starting to feel a lot closer than it used to.

According to my forecast, my monthly dividend income is expected to stay almost flat over the next three years. I guess that's better than seeing it go down, but I'd really like to get it up to $2,000 a month within the next few years.

My biggest holdings are SCHD, JNJ, ABBV, PG, and VZ. I keep investing every month, but it feels like my income growth has stalled.

If this were your portfolio, what would you change to get the dividend income growing again?

54M. Long-term dividend investor here. The closer I get to retirement, the more I find myself wanting a simpler portfolio

I'm thinking about trimming some of the holdings that make up less than 2% of my portfolio and putting that money into my larger positions instead.

What else would you improve?

Just recently crossed $1,000 a month in projected dividend income

I'm 54 now, so retirement has definitely been on my mind a lot more lately. I find myself checking my projected income more often than I used to. Even seeing small increases helps keep me motivated.

My long-term goal is about $80,000 a year in dividend income.

My next milestone is $2,000 a month. I'm continuing to reinvest everything and add to my portfolio every month, with the goal of retiring around 2035.

What keeps you motivated to stay the course? And how close are you to your milestone?

Looking forward to August

I've got about $557 in dividends scheduled, and it's one of my bigger payout months of the year. Seeing those payments hit the account never gets old.

How's your August looking?

Anyone else been looking at ICE lately?

The stock has come down quite a bit, and the valuation looks a lot more attractive than it did before. I haven't really found anything that suggests the business has gotten worse, and they just raised the quarterly dividend by 8%.

Anyone here holding ICE? What are your thoughts?

Why doesn't SPGI get talked about more around here?

I've been going through their financials, and everything looks pretty solid. Steady growth, strong business... unless I'm overlooking something.

Thoughts on SPGI? Do any of you own it?

Would love to get some opinions on my portfolio

This is what I've built over the years. My goal: own solid companies, collect growing dividends, and hopefully retire with a reliable income stream. I don't chase trends—I just keep adding whenever I can.

What would you change or add?

u/Training_Hair3293 — 2 months ago

I love PG!

It's hard not to appreciate a company when its products show up in almost every room of the house. That's one of the reasons it's become such a large position in my portfolio.

What do you think of PG?

Dividend Portfolio Review – Looking for Feedback

54M, investing for dividend growth and retirement income. Current portfolio value is about $445k and it's generating a little over $1,000 per month in dividends.

My goal: keep growing the income stream while maintaining a portfolio I can comfortably hold for the long term. I'd like to eventually reach $5,000 per month in dividend income by retirement.

Do you think I'm on the right path to reach that goal, or is there anything you would change?

Anyone buying PEP right now?

PEP hasn't given shareholders much price appreciation lately, but the dividends keep showing up. With another $300 payment coming on June 30, I'm still pretty comfortable holding it.

But should I be buying more at these levels, or just keep holding and collecting the dividends?

u/Training_Hair3293 — 2 months ago

What tech stocks are you buying right now?

I'm 54, a long-term investor, and TXN is currently the only tech stock in my portfolio. I'd like to add a few more technology names that I can comfortably hold for the next 10-15 years.

What would you recommend?

Portfolio feedback?

I'm 52 years old and a long-term investor focused on building reliable passive income for retirement.

My largest holdings are SCHD, JNJ, ABBV, PG, and VZ.

What do you think?

ABBV — thoughts?

I've been looking at ABBV lately. The yield is attractive, and the dividend growth has been solid, but I'm still not sure about its long-term outlook.

For those who own ABBV, are you still buying at current prices, or just holding?
