Appreciation post (caption)

I obviously love my rats, but I also love when other people appreciate them as well and are genuinely interested in my little babies!

It's very rare to find good rat communities, where people comment, show appreciation, ask questions! But this group is truly all the amazing things.

As a multi disabled person, who has daily struggles and challenges. This group has been such a light in my otherwise hard everyday life. Whenever I'm feeling like life is a little to unfair, or feel just a little to lonely. I post my rats in here, and it never fails to make my day better when I open the app an hour later and I see people loving my babies just as much as i do ❤️

So thank you, the community and everyone in it! I don't know any of you, but you have all been such a positive part of my life, and I hope me posting my rats can give some of that light back to yall!

Mr. grump (aka Derpy)

Always the same thing when its time to go back into the cage, squeeze into a corner and scream as if he's dying as soon as you get near him 🤦🏻 I love my little grump though

When the excitement is to much to contain in your little body 🏃🏻🌪

Nero (black rat) got a little to excited about the pool party last night. He's the tornado of the family, always full of energy and always running and being happy 🌪

It's so sweet when they show happiness (tail wags, boggling, ect) because it feels like a confirmation that I'm doing okay. I always worry about not being enough for my little guys, and my worst fear is making them feel like they aren't being loved enough. But when i see those little tail wags, or those eyes moving while i pet them, I know that I'm doing okay. And that's all that matter to me, that they're happy

Pool party today 🫧🛁

It has been extremely hot where I live recently. So today I set up a "splash pad"/pool party for my littlr guys to cool off. It was very appreciated by my littlest guys, and the bigger boys explored carefully 🌊

Nero + his toy truck = meant to be ❤️

My little guy Nero has been obsessing over this tiny toy truck that my sister gave me a while back 😭 I have no idea why, but he will carry it around and even take it with him into the cage and put it in a hammock. He doesn't chew on it (and he chews on EVERYTHING) he will just carry it and sleep with it if I let him have it in the cage 🤦🏻

I had some people ask where my rats are from, so I thought i talk about it (caption) 👇

I had some people ask where my rats are from, how come they are so big, ect ect. So I will go over it!

All my current rats are from a Swedish breeder who goes by Katoz. She's been breeding rats since 2009, and had rats for years before that. It's difficult to find good breeders in Sweden, in my experience. But I couldn't wish for a better breeder.

My rats that I had before these four, that I got back in 2023, was not from this breeder, but the mother was from her! Which i actually didn't know at the time!

The previous breeder unfortunately stopped (or fortunately, depending on how u see it, because she wasn't the best at following up on her rats). And after my two boys from her passed, I was left with no rats, however i had signed up for my current breeder, Katoz. About a year prior!

Three days after my last rat, Dino, passing away. She texted me on Facebook letting me know she had rats for me now, from her "Year one" litter, asking if I was interested. I wasn't planning on getting rats so soon again, but it felt like a sign, especially since I had at this point, gotten the information that my previous boys mother was from her! I said yes, and not long after Noah & Derpy (Previously Zed & Cain) to me ❤️

I had already let her know that I wanted two more rats, and she recommended I wait until Noah & Derpy are around 5 - 6 months before I get more, to spread the ages out a bit and stuff!

When they were around 5 months old, she texted me again, saying she had two boys left from her "Africa" themed litter! I said absolutely, and not long after my boys Nero & Jeff (Previously Malawi & Burundi) moved in!

Intros went SUPER smoothly, and now Noah & Derpy are about to be 8 months, and Nero & Jeff are a little over 3 months!

Last week I texted her saying I was interested in a couple more little guys, and we discussed her planned litters and when I wanted more, ect.

I ended up signing up for a litter planned for this Fall, that, surprise!! Nero & Jeff's sister will be having!

So now I'm patiently waiting for their cousins ❤️

I apologise for such a long text, but I truly think its so important to highlight good breeders! And I love talking about my rats.

This is my rat Jeff, and he's on crack

This is Jeff, Jeff is more hyper than anyone (human or animal) i ever seen.

He has so much energy that even when he's standing still, he makes little glitchy movements or small jumps. He loves people and has always, since day one, been the most forward and brave rat i ever had. But he doesn't like being held, because what's the fun in being still?? He however loves wrestling and playing tag, and just anything that brings chaos.

My mom says he has something wrong with him but in a good way, and I agree 🤷🏻

He's my wild child for sure, and maybe my crack child..
