It only took 15 years

My 15 year old started playing guitar February of this year, this in addition to 5 years of brass ( primary tuba but also plays trombone).

With guitar he has been primarily playing Nirvana, red hot chilli peppers, green day, off springs etc. I am 55 so I have my share of grunge / punk / harder alternative but I don't think I was his primary influence.

I put on hey, hey, my, my from weld. He looks at me and asks "what's this? I should learn this."

Moved the stereo

My stereo has lived in my basement. The basement also contains my home office and where my teenage son likes to hangs out and play guitar/video games. So I rarely listen to music down there.

I decided to relocate the system to the family room. Of course I needed to test everything out. Phono = chrome dreams, CD = Live Rust and Bluetooth I strayed and went with tigdh

The wilds (Ohio wilderness preserve)

I picked up the sigma 150-500 this winter. I don't really shoot wildlife or birds (other than at the feeder). But the lens was $370 so I thought I would find uses for it. I have really only used the lens for a high school band concert which I say in the last row.

Body k3iii. I was shooting mostly 1/1000, wide open auto iso. I did bump the shutter up mid way through. I had the lens stabilization on. A lot of the shots were on a monopod. It was windy the lens is really long @500 and the hood. The was a couple times when I felt the wind blowing the lens

K1000 rewind button troubleshooting

1st gen k1000, my father purchased in 77 or 78. I have had it in my possession since the mid 80s. It has had plenty of time just living on a shelf. I started using it again earlier this year. I have shot 5 rolls thru it.

The last 2 rolls when I depress the rewind button it does stay pressed in. I need to hold the button. This is not the worse problem. Hold in with one hand and rewind with the other

Is that an easy fix? Or just accept it is 50 years old and be happy it still functions

Graduation, audience clothing norms

I am attending OSU graduation for the first time as a spectator. My other experience have been at high school and smaller indoor more intimate settings.

I think I wore a tie and a sport coat.

But in the shoe I feel like I would be way over dressed. I am also going to be there for 4 plus hours

What is the appropriate attire?

My son is graduating from Ohio State. The ceremony is in the stadium which seats 100k +. I have no idea where I will be seating in relation to the stage. I have already taken portraits of him but I assume there will be some more with family, friends etc.

I don't think I want to deal with multiple lenses. There is a bag policy, security etc. I do have a 2x telecoverter that I would consider taking

Options

Sigma 18-200 f4.5-6.7. I don't use this lens often but it seems like the right choice. Even though it is probably the worst IQ of my choices

Sigma 17-50 f2.8. am I going to miss the long end?

Tamron 70-200 f2.8 am I going to miss

Pentax 100 f2.8 macro

Pentax 50 f1.4 the sigma 17-50 seems like a better option. I am not going to need the 1.4

Rokinon 85 f1.4 manual focus

Sigma 150-400 f4.5-6.3(?). Not a serious consideration
