Length of time to sell a London property
about to sell my London flat and am aware it's not a great market time, but also equally aware i'm done being a landlord and i live in the US now.
Am steeling myself for the property to be on the market for a while and to reduce at some point if no firm offers. I started going through my old documents when i purchased the flat in 2009 and it took 4 months from first viewing to when i completed.
i'm seeing London sales now taking 6 months or more from start to finish.
In the US, a house sale is done start to finish in 30 days or less with very strict deadlines.
Aside from London being a significantly older place than America in general, does anyone know precisely why the US is so much more efficient and why the UK has so much red tape?
