Starting to see the signs everywhere...

But it is very unlikely that we all have it, right? Right...??

Symptoms getting worse when observed?

I recently made the discovery that I may have ADHD. I am in the process of finding someone that can diagnose me (but that's a different topic).

Since I started my suspicion about ADHD, I have been observing potential symptoms more closely - realizing that there were a lot more symptoms than I was aware.

However, since then I have the feeling that the intensity of the symptoms is increasing. And I have been wondering wether that is something that you have observed as well? Even my bf has made a comment in that direction.

I feel more clumsy and forgetful. And procrastination is a lot worse than usual (may be linked to the fact that a lot of people are on vacation right now, and I struggle without external structure). And I had mood swings, which I usually don't have (this process is overwhelming though...).

Maybe I am just noticing them more? Or did I forget how bad it was in the past? Is it something like a "self-fulfilling prophecy?" Or did I just stop compensating because I may know the cause now?

In any case it is exhausting...

Curious to hear what you think and if you have observed something similar before.

I want a pet potato.

Ok, hear me out.

I am referring to potato, Sam's cat. I just finished the game and at some point I was really hoping you would find potato in the game.

I mean, if I can have Baby Penglins in my Aquarium, I also want a base cat. Marguerita has a stalker pet, so why not?

Could have been something like: you find Sam's cat hidden somewhere around outpost zero, half frozen and chewing on a nutrient bar. You pick her up, take her in and free her in your base. Now you have a cat that sleeps on your bed, watches fish through the window and scratches her claws on a Preston's plant. Occasionally you toss her a peeper. It would only have been cooler if it was an alien and not a regular cat.

And while we are at it, why don't they let me pet the sea monkeys... ? They always look so happy when they give me a present...

Ok, I am going to take my meds now and focus on something more healthy... Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

Dinner date didn't go as expected

This is a short/mild horror story, but I still shake my head about it. Not sure it fits the "SA" trigger warning, but it contains inappropriate behavior at minimum.

Many years ago, I was very interested in RPG but only had played one session before. So I was very excited when I got an opportunity to play again:

My bf at the time was playing a campaign with some of his friends online. His character had a love interest in the campaign, which was an NPC. When I got to know his friends, the DM had the great idea to invite me and let me play said NPC for one session. For reference: I (f) was around 19 and my ex was 1-2 years older than me. The DM (m) was in his thirties, and the rest of the party in between and all male, iirc.

I thought it was a cute idea to have a cameo and was super excited to join. It didn't go well though.

The party and my character met during a dinner. My Ex's character "flirted" with my character, but it became obvious he wasn't very good at it. He meant to be sassy, but came off as offensive. And with everything he said he made it only worse. The party didn't seem to bother.

I reacted the way I would react if someone would speak to me like this in real life. My character became offended first. Eventually when he doubled down, I threw a glass of water in his face. I can't remember what happened afterwards, but the encounter came to an end shortly after.

The DM texted me afterwards being disappointed. He didn't seem to have any issues with the way my ex behaved - on the contrary, he said something like he had hoped that I would have acted out the romance, e.g. by giving my ex's character a foot job below the dinner table (he phrased it a bit differently).

My ex also didn't really understand why my character had acted that way and also was a bit disappointed. I think we never talked about it again and broke off not too long after. Looking back I can only think two things:

1.) How it was a red flag that my ex thought being disrespectful was flirting. Didn't realize that at the time, but at least it didn't take me too long to break up afterwards.

2.) Did they really expect us to act out a soft porn in front of them all? Eww...
