Any locals going to Billycon VI?

I'm kinda obsessed with the Rockafire Explosion (the animatronic band that was originally at Showbiz Pizza) and am looking to attend Billycon at Billy Bob's Wonderland two weeks from now (17th-19th - VIP is sold out, but admission is free).

Is anyone else from Wilmington going? It's a long shot, but I'd love to meet up with others from Wilmington and go with a group (or some other obsessed person who is going solo).

If you're the tech from our Wilmington location, please DM me - I want very much to be your buddy.

Finally Going to Pineville...Tomorrow!

This might be my last chance to see the 3-stage in person, and I'm not going to miss it.

I'm too stoked to sleep.

I'll be making the drive from Wilmington in the morning and plan to spend basically the whole day there. I called a few hours ago to make sure that the band will be performing (since they've been having issues as of late); I was assured that there have been no issues over the last few days and the show would be in full swing. Their tech won't be in tomorrow, but T will be there - and he's been told to expect a nerd from Wilmington. 🤓

So, yeah, if you happen to see a grown woman with no children happily tearing up at the foot of the stage tomorrow...feel free to come say hi.

The Taco Bell Just South Of Monkey Junction Is Infuriating

I've been waiting 30 minutes since checking in at the speaker with my online order. Just left the window where the employee asked me to park and said that "it'll be another 5 minutes."

The last several times I risked going to this location, my order was wrong and/or missing items/modifications. The most recent time was October of last year. I waited FORTY-EIGHT MINUTES to get my food. I stopped coming here after that and filed a complaint with corporate.

Tonight I really wanted some Taco Bell on my way home and thought I might see if it was any better. It is not.

When did this become acceptable?

UPDATE: Total wait time 43 minutes. Order missing modifications (which I was charged for). Looks like I'll have to add this location to The List. 😮‍💨

Why, oh, WHY can't they be bothered to read the description?? vent/rant/story

Listed my for-parts tech hoard with a detailed description of what each item is doing/not doing or if it has been tested at all, etc.

3 minutes after listing I get a message: "I'll take it." I asked if he could come now, he confirmed. I provided an address, he provided an ETA of 15 minutes. Solid interaction.

At ETA, I am waiting (in the 103 degree heat index) at my neighborhood's mailboxes to meet up when I get a message saying to add 5 minutes to the ETA bc he needed to stop at an ATM. No problem, I get it.

15 minutes past ETA he shows up. Okay, traffic/it was further than he thought - whatever.

THEN he starts asking me why I'm selling so cheap. I was puzzled. I told him that this is all tech that either doesn't work or I can't test and it isn't worth my time to sell it individually.

...to which he says, disappointed, "IT DOESN'T WORK!?"

My dude.

"I provided all of the details of each item in the description. I thought you knew what you were coming to get."

"I didn't see the description. It it didn't show me a 'see more' or anything. Just tell me about this stuff. What works?"

"It's all in the description. In detail. I put it in the description so there wouldn't need to be any questions about the condition of each item." (There are over a dozen items in this lot.)

"Well, I'm right here, tell me about what works."

"Everything I know about each piece is in the listing."

"I don't think I can see the description. Can you show me on your phone?"

I'm already ready to call it at this point and tell him to leave, but I'd rather get this stuff gone right now - so I pull up the listing and show him the description. I should have known how that would go given his reaction to hearing that some items were non-working.

As he's reading, he's making diasspointed noises and mumbling commentary "oh, no power supply....ah, won't read discs...untested..." and shaking his head. Then he looks me in the eye and says "I don't knooooowwwwww..."

"It's $60. If you want it all for $60, it's yours, otherwise-" and then I saw him make that expression (you know, the one where they're about to lowball you), so I stopped mid-sentence and said:

"$80. It's $80 now. Do you want it?'

"No."

"Okay, then," I said as I picked up my big box 'o tech. With a smile I added "thank you for your time" and walked off before he could even get in his car.

Came straight home to give him a proper review, block him, and relist the lot.

From r/mademesmile - some of us in the comments are suspicious, but most people seem to think it's an older video.

There is something off about the way the momma looks at the camera, and how she carries/sets the kittens down...another user mentioned her leg blurring out, but that could be due to video quality. Something could be up with the 'lettering' on the pants. Idk. What do you think?

ETA: Cat's definitely do this with their humans/kittens. That's not in question.
