Squeaky brakes - very loud

Hi all,

I have hydraulic disc brakes on my commuter. Rode the bike through winter. In the last couple weeks the brakes have become SUPER noisy. The front is the worst. But rear is squeaking too. The noise starts and grows as I finish my stop, and worse the harder I brake.

I’ve cleaned the rotors and the pads but wondering if I need to swap the pads. Here is a pic of the front pads, any advice if these are glazed or worn? Picture was taken before cleaning.

The streetcar tracks got me

You may have caught a glimpse of me catching the tracks on King in front of Earls (bright blue jacket, epic fall). I struggled to save it. And went down on the pavement during rush hour. Luckily no other cyclists or cars were around me, just a hundred or so people leaving work.

I am ok thankfully. Just frustrated with the situation considering I’ve been riding king all winter and throughout 2026.

Just venting, anyone else fall victim to the tracks?

PS. I am not anti streetcar. But those tracks really came outta no where!
