New Happy Meals today 8/18/26 - Godzilla vs Hello Kitty

McDonalds is going to see a lot of me this month.

16 screens: 50 showings of Spider-man, 20 of Odyssey, 15 of everything else

Guess it’s to be expected, but still seems crazy. My theater often skips the more limited releases, so I have to drive a bit to see the ‘lesser’ releases.

Is there an easy way to track A24’s digital sales?

Noticed that the films sometimes go on sale in the app, but find them just by clicking on each title. Am I missing an easy way to track these?

For example, today we have Y2K and Death of a Unicorn for $7.99 to own, and a couple others.

Finally did (sorta) an octuple screening

I’m retired and live two miles from my Regal, so two or three a day is pretty common, I see every unlimited-eligible movie that comes to my theater once.

I did six a few months ago, and thought it was a one and done.

Sunday I went to an early morning open caption screening of Robin Hood because I had missed a lot of the early dialogue due to a noisy theater and I think just the way the film is mixed. But at the kiosk that morning, looking at the showings for the day, I saw that eight was possible. Why not?

Now, I said sorta in the title because I did leave a few times to run errands or get real meals. But I saw several of the movies in full and at least big chunks of all the others. And one had to be a repeat due to the way the screenings were timed. So I’ll concede that it’s not truly an octuple. But now that I know it’s possible, I might try a real one someday.

EDIT TO ADD: In response to being called a liar and getting spreadsheeted in the comments below, what the heck is their problem? Despite their math showing me missing 20 minutes of a couple films, I definitely watched to the credits and saw the regal coaster of those specific films. Don’t know what to say expect maybe ads/trailers aren’t always exactly 25 minutes. I would expect we all know this, mine range from 0 to 45 or more.

And besides, I openly admitted to taking meal breaks during the films, and it therefore not being a true octopule. But hey, I could use a good editor so maybe they’ll put that much work into all my writing.

Worth going a little overboard to keep Diamond status?

I end up paying for tickets for my wife or a friend once or twice a month, and finally hit Diamond status.

I know I’m locked in to that extra 1000 points per ticket purchase for a year, but am thinking of buying an extra SMX ticket each time we go just to give us extra room for our stuff and keep that bonus easier to maintain. Anyone else do this? Or is it even worthwhile points wise?

RPX upgrade promo; but theater listed as RPX is not

Think we all get a free RPX upgrade as one of the tier rewards. Mine expires in about a month. The Regal website lists my Frederick location as the only RPX screen in Maryland, but there are no RPX screens here, at least listed as such.

Anyone encounter this or similar? I’ll ask a manager next time I see one there, maybe they used to have RPX and the Regal website never updated. Might ask if they’ll give me a free upgrade on IMAX or 4DX or VIP instead.
