Gatekeeping places

Alright I’m sick of people not gatekeeping secret spots or nature spots. Posts on insta that blast the name and address or have the pin to it. (This is completely not about restaurants or shops those ofc need business. Yeah yeah it’s kindness to share a cool spot or whatever but at the end of the day if more and more people come eventually it’ll draw in the people who will leave trash everywhere scratch their name into shit. Making people find their own places to explore keeps out those types of people most of the time they to lazy to put in the work to find a spot. People just be posting locations for the love of attention when they don’t realize how much worse it can get if it gets blown out. Not to mention parking. I know I’m young but bc of these stupid people parking at some of my favorite spots is filling up and in the coming years I’ll for sure have to come earlier and earlier to get there. I’m just curious if anyone thinks there’s any good from giving out locations to the public the only thing I can think of is more money for the state park or national if it’s one of those but I’m more talking city/ no parking fee areas

Solo backpack Anza borrego

You can’t beat not having to have a permit and free parking that’s how backpacking should be. Just park climb scramble hike up the steep hills and hangout

First time solo backpacking multi day, a must

my first multi day trip solo. Before that I had just done a couple one night hike up a decent hill sleep at the top come back in morning. It was so much different having that much alone time out there. I truly believe everyone that enjoys the outdoors should go solo just once to try it out. The amount of free time/ boredom is really nice for head. Since then I’ve done a couple more solo trips I’ve found I only get bored if I have to much time at camp but if I have more then enough miles to do its great. I really like going solo bc I find I’m a lot faster in the morning then my buds I’ll be heating up water for dinner and setting up the tent at once j stuff like that. If ur a little spooked about other people in the woods my advice would be to camp out of site of the trail but ofc tell someone or send ur location to someone else. And I bring a fat knife even tho it’s so rare an animal will mess with you I felt so accomplished this trip doing 4k elevation the first day and then 11 miles the next. It’s a lil brutal taking a four person tent but I couldn’t leave the tent at home there was rain predicted.
