So apparently it’s all screen printed…
My mom did a mail trade for this pin and the other trader used packing tape to secure the removable elements… when she took off the tape all the color came off!! It’s crazy that Disney didn’t use a single drop of colored enamel in those topper pieces!! Lucky for her the other trader is awesome and took full responsibility and is working something out with her. Just a PSA to not put packing tape over pins I guess 😂💀

Leftover fabric- love it or hate it?
I bought a quilt kit for a friends wedding. After cutting all the pieces, I seriously have enough leftover that if I bought new background fabric I could almost make the whole thing twice.
Is this the ideal situation for other quilters? Or do you think about all the other stuff you could’ve got with that money lol

Here’s what I did!
I know a lot of people think the course pretest (NOT THE PA, like the legit course pretest) is pointless but I like to know where I need to focus. I did that and saw the sections that I need to focus on.
I opened the course material and jumped straight to the assessment on each chapter that I felt confident in. If there was a section I got confused or foggy on I speed-red the page, and paused when I really felt stumped. Then I did the section quiz and returned to the chapter assessment. This took me about 3 hours. (It would’ve been faster without toddlers too lol)
Then I took the PA, passed, and got an immediate OA slot. Like I think the time between my practice exam and OA was like 20 minutes.
And voila! It’s very heavy on bottle neck types and several of the OA questions are literally copy paste from the PA or the textbook.

Do I need to do multiple purchases?
I did a 19.99 purchase so I could get the level 30 bonus, will I need to do another 10$+ purchase for the level 50 one? This is monopoly bingo, and I’d say it’s pretty doable if you have a few hours to spare each day.

Mentor issues with the app?
My mentor is kind of unconventional and literally only calls me if explicitly requested (with a good enough reason too- he’s been known to text responses over calling)
But today he texts me unprompted and is like hey how’s the course going, is there anything me or instructor can do? Why aren’t you resuming coursework?
I responded that it was going great and I had been pretty consistent with coursework, about the enter the final module.
Then I get a whole bunch of texts like:
“the university is concerned for your progress” and “you shouldn’t be using the app, it’s incomplete and meant to supplement”
Like bro, if I can access the textbook from my iPad and it’s easier for me to study mobile while chasing toddlers is that not allowed?
Anyways. Rant over. Has anyone else gotten this spiel from their mentor?

It was not the ugliest quilt. But I do think it’s much prettier now!

Now she’s ready to be quilted!
I adjusted some things and added 1.5 inch (finished) sashing. It grew from a throw I lowkey hated to a twin quilt my mom and daughter are fighting over!
Thank you for indulging my dramatics. I see those “I hate it” posts all the time and never thought it would happen to me.
If you wanna do this type of pattern- I didn’t measure the long sashing rows very well and just pinned and prayed lol. But it took 160 2.5 inch squares and 40 pieces of a layer cake! Then 40 10x2 inch rectangles and a lot of long 2 inch strips for the longer sashing.

Sorry the pictures are weird, I have no other layout space than my bed.
I got this layer cake for Christmas and finally found a pattern I thought I’d like for it- snowballed corners set on point. As I was sewing the snowballs I was so excited, but now that it’s in layout stage I want to pull my hair out and maybe cry.
I gave up on making a balance layout towards the top. The only setting triangles that are “set” are the corner pinks, everything else is still whole and could be moved.
Is this able to be saved? Do I trash it? Give it to someone I secretly hate? Aaaaaaaaaaa

Also note- I know for a fact a dalmation pin is a scrapper. If I have any other suspicions on pins I’ll be sure to put that in. It’s just my daughter’s pin so she wanted a pic of it too.
