Built my first anime tracking platform — would love feedback from people here
Hey everyone,
I’m from Puri and wanted to share a project I’ve been working on recently.
I built SENKAIHUB an anime tracking website focused on making it easier to keep up with shows, releases, and updates.
The idea came from a simple problem — anime trackers are useful, but I felt the overall experience could be more modern and convenient.
Currently it has:
• Anime list tracking
(Watching, Completed, On Hold, Plan to Watch, Dropped)
• Episode notifications directly through the browser without needing an app
• Alerts when completed anime get a sequel/new season announcement
• Weekly release calendar adjusted to your timezone
• Anime wallpapers
• PWA support so it can work like an installed app
Planning to add:
• MyAnimeList/AniList import
• Spoiler-safe episode discussions
• Personalized recommendations
• Friends and social features
Built this as a solo project and still improving it.
Would appreciate any feedback, suggestions, or ideas.
Also curious if there are other anime fans or developers from Puri here.

Why do anime trackers still feel like databases instead of watching companions? I experimented with a new approach
Hey everyone,
I’ve been using anime trackers for a while, but I always felt like most of them are amazing databases while the actual watching experience could be improved.
Sometimes keeping track of new episodes, sequels, airing times, and everything you plan to watch feels like it requires more effort than it should.
So I started experimenting with my own approach and built SENKAI (senkaihub.com).
The idea was to make anime tracking feel more modern and focused around the viewer.
Things I’ve added so far:
• A cleaner visual anime library instead of just managing lists
• Tracking for Watching, Completed, On Hold, Plan to Watch, and Dropped anime
• Browser notifications when episodes from your tracked shows become available
• Alerts when completed anime receive sequel or movie announcements
• Weekly release calendar with airing times adjusted to your timezone
• Wallpaper hub for discovering anime artwork
• Installable web app support, so it works more like a mobile app without downloading one
Some ideas I’m working on next:
• Importing existing lists from MyAnimeList and AniList
• Episode discussions with spoiler protection
• Better personalized recommendations
• Social features like friends and watch parties
I’m building this alone and wanted to hear from other anime fans:
What do you think current anime trackers are missing?
Would features like release notifications and sequel alerts actually be useful?
Any feedback or suggestions would genuinely help me improve it.

Do anime tracking websites feel outdated to anyone else? I tried building a different approach
Hey everyone,
I’ve been experimenting with an anime tracking project called SENKAI and wanted to hear opinions from people who regularly use trackers.
Most anime platforms are great databases, but I always wondered if tracking could feel a little more interactive and personal.
Some ideas I have been testing:
• A cleaner visual library for managing anime lists
• Quick switching between Watching, Completed, Planned, Dropped, etc.
• Browser-based notifications when episodes become available
• Alerts when finished anime receive sequel announcements
• A weekly anime schedule adjusted automatically to your timezone
• Making the website installable like an app without needing a store download
I also added a small wallpaper section because I felt anime discovery and visuals are a big part of the experience.
Things I’m thinking about adding next:
• Importing existing MAL/AniList libraries
• Episode discussions that avoid spoilers until you catch up
• Better recommendation systems
• More community features around watching anime together
I’m mainly curious:
For people who track anime regularly, what is the biggest thing missing from current trackers?
Would features like notifications, sequel alerts, or a more modern interface actually matter to you?
Any suggestions or criticism would help improve it.

I made an anime tracker as a solo dev and need feedback from anime fans
Hey everyone,
I've been working on a side project called SENKAI, an anime tracker, and I wanted to get some feedback from people who actually track what they watch.
I use anime trackers myself, but I felt there were a few things I wanted to experiment with:
- Making tracking feel more visual instead of only list-based
- Getting notified when new episodes release without needing a separate mobile app
- Automatically knowing when completed anime get sequel announcements
- Having a release calendar adjusted to your timezone
- Making the overall experience cleaner and faster
Some things I’m currently trying:
- Watching / Completed / On Hold / Plan to Watch tracking
- Web notifications
- Anime wallpapers
- Installable browser app (PWA)
Future ideas I’m considering:
- MAL/AniList imports
- Spoiler-protected episode discussions
- Recommendations based on your anime history
- Friends and watch parties
For people who use MAL, AniList, Kitsu, etc:
What features do you feel are missing?
What would actually make you try another anime tracker?
Are notifications something you would use?
Would appreciate any feedback or suggestions.
