Critical situation vit class starting and tnea choice filling overlap please help

I applied for vit civil engineering and got vellore as I am interested only in civil but my preference in only ceg or psg civil now according to google or ChatGPT choice filling for tnea is 20th July same date as the class starting at vit I paid tution fee but not yet for the hostel for vit so this kind of situation is alarming. I believed I would get ceg or psg civil but my general rank is just 11530 and bc rank is 6706 i am in a situation where I could not tell wheather I will surely get ceg or psg and confused since core engineering is better at anna uni than pvt colleges such as civil the commencement at vit is on 13th is it compulsory to attend orientation on 13th and seniors please guide me in this kind of situation !!!

Confused between NIT Trichy B.Arch, CEG Civil, DU BBA and VIT backup – Need guidance on counseling timelines and decisions

Hi everyone. I'm from Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, and I'm currently in the phase between Class 12 and college. I have several options and timelines overlapping, and I'm feeling confused. I would really appreciate guidance from seniors or anyone who has gone through JoSAA, TNEA, DU-CSAS, or VIT admissions.

My JEE Main Paper 2 (B.Arch) details:

- Percentile: 96.17

- CRL Rank: 2635

- OBC Rank: 858

- Category: OBC-NCL

- Home State: Tamil Nadu

My first preference:

NIT Trichy B.Arch (home state quota)

I also filled choices like:

- SPA Delhi

- NIT Trichy

- NIT Calicut

- SPA Bhopal

- SPA Vijayawada

- MNIT Jaipur

- VNIT Nagpur, etc.

In JoSAA Round 1, I got nothing allotted. I am hoping to get something in Round 2 or later, preferably NIT Trichy B.Arch.

My Class 12 marks:

- Mathematics: 98

- Physics: 76

- Chemistry: 93

I have applied for CBSE verification/re-evaluation, and results are still pending. I expect improvement, especially in Physics and Chemistry.

TNEA option:

I am also interested in Civil Engineering and would prefer only:

  1. College of Engineering, Guindy (CEG)
  2. MIT Chennai (Anna University)

Current cutoff is around 182.5, and I belong to OBC category.

Questions:

  1. If re-evaluation marks come after TNEA rank publication, can I update my marks and get a revised rank?
  2. Has anyone gone through this process before?
  3. Are CEG Civil or MIT Civil realistic with OBC and possible improvement?

VIT Vellore backup:

I have already paid fees for Civil Engineering at VIT Vellore, but honestly, I don't want to join unless all other options fail.

Questions:

  1. When do VIT classes usually start?
  2. Will all JoSAA rounds and TNEA counseling happen before VIT becomes compulsory to attend?
  3. If I later get NIT Trichy B.Arch or CEG Civil, can I withdraw and get hostel and tuition fees refunded? What percentage is refunded and till when?

CUET and Delhi University:

I also wrote CUET and am interested in:

- BBA/BMS at Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies (SSCBS), Delhi University.

- Even courses like BBA (FIA), Finance, FinTech, etc., are fine. I don't necessarily need only the top program.

Questions:

  1. When are CUET results and DU-CSAS counseling expected?
  2. What percentile/score is usually needed for SSCBS for OBC category?
  3. Is SSCBS BBA/BMS worth choosing over Civil Engineering or B.Arch?
  4. How does the timeline overlap with JoSAA and TNEA?

My priorities are roughly:

  1. NIT Trichy B.Arch ❤️
  2. CEG Civil or MIT Civil (Anna University)
  3. SSCBS Delhi University (BBA/BMS/FIA)
  4. VIT Vellore Civil (backup only)

I am worried because everything is happening simultaneously, and I don't want to make a wrong decision or lose a good opportunity because of deadlines.

Any advice on:

- JoSAA strategy after Round 1 no allotment,

- TNEA mark update after re-evaluation,

- VIT refund policy,

- DU timelines,

- And which option you would choose in my situation,

would be really helpful.

Thank you!

TNEA 2026 Doubts: Re-evaluation Marks Update, Rank List Timeline, Counseling Process and College Commencement

Hi everyone,

I'm participating in TNEA 2026 counseling and have some doubts regarding CBSE re-evaluation marks, rank list publication, and the overall counseling process. I would appreciate guidance from seniors and anyone who has gone through TNEA recently.

My CBSE marks have undergone verification/re-evaluation, and I am waiting for the updated results. I have a few questions:

  1. If my re-evaluated marks are released after I have already submitted my application, how can I update them in TNEA?

  2. Where should the revised marksheet or score be uploaded? Is there a separate correction window or document upload process?

  3. If the TNEA rank list is delayed or postponed, will candidates with re-evaluated marks get enough time to update their marks before rank publication?

  4. If the rank list is already published and then the re-evaluation results come, is there any provision for getting a revised rank?

  5. Has anyone here gone through this process before? What was your experience?

  6. What are the important dates after rank publication? How do choice filling and seat allotment work?

  7. Approximately when do classes commence for Anna University-affiliated colleges and government engineering colleges through TNEA?

  8. How many rounds of counseling are conducted, and how much do cutoffs generally move between rounds?

  9. During counseling, what documents should be kept ready to avoid last-minute issues?

  10. Any advice for a student going through TNEA counseling for the first time?

Thank you! Any help regarding re-evaluation updates, rank list procedures, counseling timelines, and commencement dates would be greatly appreciated.

Architecture vs Civil Engineering vs BBA: Which Has Better Scope in India and Abroad?

Hi everyone,

I'm from Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, and I'm currently trying to decide between architecture, civil engineering, and management, and I would really appreciate advice from seniors and professionals.

My profile:

- JEE Main Paper 2 (B.Arch): 96.17 percentile

- CRL Rank: 2635

- OBC Rank: 858

- Home State: Tamil Nadu

My first preference through JoSAA is NIT Trichy B.Arch, and I have home state quota.

At the same time, I'm also interested in Civil Engineering, particularly at:

- College of Engineering, Guindy (CEG)

- MIT Campus, Anna University

I have VIT Vellore Civil Engineering as a backup, although it is not my preferred option.

I have also written CUET and am interested in BBA/BMS/FIA at SSCBS, Delhi University if I get a good score.

My dilemma is not just about college reputation, but about the long-term scope of these careers.

Some questions:

  1. How does NIT Trichy B.Arch compare with CEG Civil in terms of career opportunities, higher studies, placements, and work-life balance?

  2. Is architecture a good field in India in 2026 and beyond? What are the realities regarding salary, growth, and work pressure?

  3. How does Civil Engineering from CEG or MIT compare with Architecture from NIT Trichy?

  4. If I am interested in design, buildings, infrastructure, and urban development, which field offers better long-term prospects?

  5. How does BBA/BMS/FIA from SSCBS compare with Architecture or Civil Engineering in terms of salary growth, MBA opportunities, consulting, finance, and overall career flexibility?

  6. If you had to rank these options purely from a career perspective, how would you rank:

    - NIT Trichy B.Arch

    - CEG Civil Engineering

    - MIT Anna University Civil Engineering

    - SSCBS BBA/BMS/FIA

    - VIT Vellore Civil Engineering

  7. Which option gives the best combination of:

    - Career growth

    - Job security

    - Higher studies opportunities

    - International opportunities

    - Earning potential over the next 10–20 years

I genuinely like both architecture and civil engineering, and I am open to management as well. I would love to hear from architects, civil engineers, SSCBS students, NITians, Anna University students, and anyone who has faced similar choices.

Thank you!
