this one is WAAAAYY better than my first WIP, sounding much more like the song. I still can’t quite get the “boom-boom-BOOM-“ part right, but I’m getting very close.

Remade One More Time. Not perfect.

I know i didn’t remake it how they actually did, i just used the one sample that was most prominent in the song - i know they used a bunch of the other variations of the sample to make it sound perfect, i was too lazy too lol

Made a Daft Punk inspired song that fooled my Daft Punk - obsessed dad into thinking it was real.

I made this song a while ago, but today I decided to see how good it was. I told my dad I was gonna turn on some Daft Punk, and he said ok. I turned my song on, and my dad was really grooving to it. When the song ended, my dad started rambling about how amazing Daft Punk was and how they could have a sample for anything - and then I told him it was my song. He told me he’s never been more proud.

(The sample for the song btw is “I Wanna Be with You” by Armenta and Majik, with added drums and bass by me)

As a daft punk fan, this post still pisses my off.

Daft Punk doesn’t “cash in” on other people’s music… for one, you know that they have PAY to use the music right? Or else that’s COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT. Second, they use creative recontextualization to make the samples sound unique, and original and not just like the same loop over and over.
