Tacoma appreciation post.

I’ve owned this truck now for a few years and it’s been by far the best vehicle I’ve owned. I’ve gone new places and met new people all because of this truck. Got just under 130k so we’re just getting started!

Testing out first few chalk rounds!

Tired out some 3” aluminum and 1.5” pla shells with some success. I’m loading 50gr in the shorter shells and 60gr in the bigger ones of pyrodex 777. I had about 60% of my first 2 batches of each fail to go father than 10’ due to weak seal on the chalk cup but after adding alittle more tape I’ve gotten more consistent results with batch 3 and 4. I really appreciate everybody here who helped get me started with reloading.

I’m having some trouble with my first few chalk rounds. I first noticed the bottom of the cup sat somewhat loose in the shell. It doesn’t have any play but it’s not snug whatsoever. I’ve added alittle tape to help snug the cup into the shell. Will this work or is there a better way to help keep it seated into the shell? I was also told to use pyrodex instead of black powder. I plan on picking some up on the way home from work tomorrow along with the 12 gauge primers for the shells. I have some Irwin chalk ordered and on the way. Is there anything I’m forgetting? Also I feel there will be a gap in the shell between the cup and powder, should I be adding something in there to help secure the powder to the bottom of the shell? I appreciate any insight!
