House 1 - backed out due to overwhelming amount of fixes needed for the house to be safe to live in (electrical, foundation, etc)
House 2 - backed out after finding out the city was developing homeless rehabilitation housing right next door and felt concern for our young kids safety
House 3 - current contract, sellers just released documents of home history that list multiple known issues, this is a flipped house so they are saying they don’t have knowledge as they don’t live there. Said it’s just part of their disclosure within 7 days. Suddenly feeling concerned about the quantity of issues (leaking, unseen damage, foundation stuff)

We are well within our legal rights to back out but anyone else feel like this disclosure after contract feels weird? Suddenly there are more concerns and issues. I’m also worried I’ll piss off my realtor. Plus, this house would really be great for us but I’m having total cold feet after reading all of the issues that are possibly wrong with it.

For a resort that focuses on having a large water park why don’t the rooms have more opportunities to dry your swimsuits?

A clothes line in the shower?
A coat stand near the heater?
Anything?

The waterpark locker room area has a suit spinner to remove some water but with a whole hotel room waiting for me why would I change my clothes in the locker room?

Why not add a few chances for folks to dry their clothes? Or maybe have a dryer on each floor where you can scan your wristband and dry your stuff? Honestly I’m not looking for a nice wash…just dry it.

Would you buy a house that backs up to apartment buildings? Like you have a 2 story house and the apartments are 2 stories. You stand in your back yard and you can chat with the folks on their deck which overlooks your yard. We are talking at least 4 units.

Edit: I guess I should say, this house is by far the nicest you’ve seen in the town you are shopping in.

We are looking at an older house (1910s) that has some work that needs to be done but we are squeezed at the top of our budget. The location is great but we would be living on a tight budget for a while.

Or we could go for something much less but we could lose things like privacy, freedoms (if we choose a place with an HOA), location/convenience, etc. but we would have much more of a buffer financially.

Wherever we land we want to commit to staying for at least 5 years.

What would you recommend?

I’ve heard one perspective from a relative but I’m curious of other’s experiences.

What is it like living in Sebastopol? What is it like growing up there for kids? How is the community?

I just moved here from Seattle where I was very active with a local soccer club playing both indoor and outdoor. I’m hoping to find some queer friendly rec level co-ed or women’s soccer opportunities near by.
