A lot of decent 2026s and transfers seem to still be looking for a home rn
Annoyed by all of the senior sessions at DP Nationals
Anyone else mildly annoyed by how DP Nationals sessions are basically treated as separate competitions?
Like, to me, someone calling themselves a L10 national champion for just winning one of the multiple senior sessions feels misleading.
Beyond that, having so many separately scored sessions seems like a missed opportunity. If DP Nationals were streamed like the Nastia Cup, with only one AA winner for senior women and one AA winner for junior women, that would be so fun! Have them, the future of NCAA gymnastics, truly duke it out to try to become national champions.
So I’d imagine Josc already has a game plan for where she's headed next. Most ppl seem quite sure she's off to Georgia next.
But you know what would be cool (even though it's not going to happen)? Joscelyn to Mizzou! 🐯
There, she'd still be able to be an NCAA star at somewhat of an underdog program (relative to the OUs and LSUs of the world).
Also, Mizzou gymnast Kaia Tanskanen was the only active NCAA athlete who advanced to the most recent women’s all-around final.
In an article, Tanskanen is quoted giving a shoutout to associate head coach Whitney Snowden.
"I'm really proud of myself for making the team and balancing both college and elite gymnastics while competing Internationally again," Tanskanen said. "It's been tough, but Coach Snowden's support and belief in me made all the difference. I'm incredibly grateful for everything she's done."
I'm someone who will usually tip reasonably well for haircuts, because I hardly get haircuts and want to leave the door open to feeling comfortable returning to the same place.
But about five years ago (not long after I graduated high school), I remember not tipping for a haircut. I had just gotten a bob haircut at a random local salon, and I was surprised when it cost over $100 (without a tip added).
At the time, I didn't have a debit card, so I brought cash with me. I didn't bring much more cash than what it ended up costing, so I didn't tip.
While I would be able to tip if I were in this situation again, I think it's reasonable to choose not to tip when you feel you were overcharged — particularly if prices aren't listed on a business’s website.
