Native Urdu speakers: looking for a poetic bracelet engraving for a close friend
Hi everyone,
I’m hoping you can help me choose (or create) a short Urdu inscription for an engraved bracelet.
The bracelet is a birthday gift for a close female friend who has been learning Urdu because it’s part of her family heritage. I wanted the engraving to reflect something meaningful to her, rather than simply translating an English phrase.
The feeling I’m trying to capture is that she’s someone whose kindness and presence make the people around her feel brighter and more themselves.
Some ideas I’ve had in English are:
- “Where you are, there is light.”
- “You bring light.”
- “May you always remain a light.”
- “Keep spreading light.”
I’m not looking for a literal translation. I’d much rather it be something that sounds natural, poetic, and culturally meaningful to a native Urdu speaker.
If there are existing sayings, lines of poetry, blessings, or expressions that capture this feeling better than my ideas, I’d genuinely love to hear them.
The engraving will be quite short, so ideally no more than a sentence.
Thank you so much for any suggestions.
