Why isn't esdeath considered a pedophile sex offender
Esdeath as a villain conceptually is fine to me. I always just interpreted her character as the weird, evil sex offender who was obsessed with Tatsumi. I'm pretty sure one of her requirements was being young (at least younger than herself) (a minor). Kidnapping him, the whole Tatsumi/Esdeath subplot, was just really weird to me because it felt like the author was fetishizing sexual violence. Watching Esdeath lick Tatsumi's face was just really uncomfortable for me. I heard her behavior is even worse in the manga (I haven't read it, so correct me if I'm wrong). Allegedly, she tells her men to rape villages and etc.
The worst part is how the fandom interacts with it. Esdeath's dynamic with Tatsumi, portraying her affection as "pure and innocent," even though it was just really weird to me. I keep seeing comments like "Tatsumi fumbled the bag to go be with Mine" just because she's more conventionally attractive than Mine. Mine may not have massive breasts or anything, but she's a sweet girl. It all just makes me feel bad, like we're going backwards on villainizing sex offenders.
For context, I'm 17 F. Myself and some very close friends/family have had really bad experiences relating to SA, so I might be overly sensitive toward this topic. Sorry if this was preachy or anything.
