Another blow for rugby as Junior Bok prop Kai Pratt fails dope test .. and they just beat NZ U20s in May

In an article published on 2 March, the Telegraph drew a tenuous connection between the Springboks’ two World Cup titles in 2019 and 2023 and a decrease in dope-testing in South Africa.

“The significant drop in testing has coincided with the Springboks becoming the most dominant force in Test rugby, winning back-to-back World Cups in 2019 and 2023,” the article in the Telegraph read.

“South Africa is the nation with the highest number of convicted dopers in rugby with 89 violations in that time, which is around 20 per cent of the entire total worldwide.”

South African rugby, especially at junior level, has seen a regular list of doping violators.

The problem is most visible at schoolboy level, which has produced positive tests almost every year.

Rosmini v Westlake 1st XV game was televised. But Auckland Principals won't allow their games to be televised! Pathetic!

How is rugby supposed to be marketed and grown with dumb decisions like that allowed?

1 News started their Sports News Segment with the All Blacks win - but 3 News started with Soccer - poor!

I have posted before about the anti-Rugby attitude at 3 News. Here it is again. Not only did they start the Sports News with the FIFA World Cup, but they then ran an advert before mentioning the All Blacks win over France! Very poor. This is NZ after all.

TV 3 is Anti-Rugby (and woke). This intentionally misleading headline tonight. Last night, the All Blacks Naming gets a brief mention, after all the other news and sports?!

This was just a friendly warm-up game, for the whole 30 NZ players, before the tournament actually starts.
