My Personal Zeldathon Entry 5: The Legend Of Zelda: Oracle Of Seasons/ Oracle Of Ages

Hello everyone and welcome back to my review series/ Journal Entries of me posting about all the mainline Zelda games I haven't played yet! Today I'll be covering both the oracle games! I decided to lump these two together because they are kind of halves of a whole but Both their own thing and you must be asking: "Shouldn't you be doing Ocarina Of Time with this entry?" Well I'm doing all the 2D mainlines in order and when I'm done with those I'm going to move to the 3D games in order so let's get into this!

Well these are definitely a nice pair of games but I kind of understand why these games aren't discussed a lot. Not to say they're bad not at all but Both of these feel similar to Links awakening without as much of the charm as it. The games both play good, have good stories and characters that reference Ocarina Of Time which is cool but other than that they're just.... Links Awakening without the weirdness. Now these games arent as cryptic as links Awakening at times but still isn't very helpful at times. But again don't think that means they're bad being a copy of links awakening still means you're still a good game just you won't reach the greatness of before. Now both of these games have gimmicks that kind of fill in that gap the Harp of Ages and Rod Of Seasons (and the rings but I really barely cared about those they don't do much for me). I think the rod is a better gimmick but the harp isn't bad. Just like links awakening the combat is fun but the story is interesting because of its potential division between the two parts, see if you connect them the story can change but if you don't they're both seperate stories that stand on their own pretty well. But combining them gives us some extra so that's what I did and something id recommend for people who do wanna check out both these games. It makes the story feel a tiny bit better and gives you a tiny bit more which is neat. These are solid games that aren't really notable for the series for an understandable reason but I still think they're solid games. If you really REALLY loved links awakening and wanted more of an itch to scratch id recommend these, I think seasons is better but only slightly. Both are solid 7/10 games

Ok those two are finally done! Those felt like forever for me so I'm finally glad to move on and get into a territory I've been VERY excited to get to for a while now! I'll see you all later when I finish: The Legend Of Zelda: The Minish Cap

My Personal Zeldathon Entry 3: The Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Past

Hello everyone to my journal entry/ review series tracking all the mainline Zelda I haven't played yet to catch up on the series. Today we have the third entry: A Link To The Past, quite a jump from Zelda II in a lot of ways so let's get into it!

Now THIS is when Zelda really started to hit its stride for mw. Not to insult Zelda I and II or anything they're great and were revolutionary for their time but felt their age THIS Zelda is where the Zelda I know and love (and overall the staple of this style of Zelda game) begins. Now before I get into this more I do have to admit...I already played a Link between worlds a long time ago when I was in middle school and adored that game a lot so I might be a bit biased towards this and make some comparrisons so keep that in mind as I go forward. But this game truely gets so much right. The progression, world interaction, combat, puzzles, side quests, story, all of it refined and improved into a much better loop of gameplay that set the standard for the series going forward. Now there is a TINY TINY bit of crytpticness sprinkled here and there but it's so minor it really isn't that big of a deal. The only major ones I can think of that aren't optinial is finding the quake medallion and silver arrows for gannon again. Which even then some more exploring and reading would make that more obvious to you than me probably I guess I was just in a bit of a rush (this game is really fun to explore btw so just have a good eye and look around you'll be set). I just wanted to get these games done in a timely manner before the OOT remake comes out and if I can't do that ESPECIALLY before the movie. Now if I took more time on this game this MICROSCOPIC amount of crypticness probably wouldn't even be something I mentioned. I did use a guide very sparingly for some minor things (mostly optinal) and some rewind mostly out of habit from Zelda I and II but also to just have an easier time and to not repeat tedious things and not be punished by stupid stuff. This game is a bit harder than I thought it would be but again I'm used to Link Between Worlds which is probably a lot easier than this. Those flaws though are super tiny in the scheme of things everything else about this game is really damn great to quicker and more fair combat, interesting characters and story, a wonderful world to explore and look around in, fun puzzles and a great artstyle and I would HIGHLY recommend this game to those who haven't played it yet, it's flaws are so minor the only thing I can fully say is bad is maybe difficulty at points, and a cryptic thing or two but nothing too bad at ALL easily a 9/10

Yeah wow this game was really great and I'm super glad I finally got to play this great game. I had an incredible time maybe my playthrough of a link between worlds helped but even if it did I'm glad it helped me enjoy this game as much as I did. What do you guys think of A Link To The Past? Let me know in the comments and I'll see you later when I play and finish Link's awakening! See you then!

Things I can get for my shield for back carrying?

Hello everybody! Last year's renaissance festival was awesome because I mostly completed my costume including this awesome shield! But after the event was over my friends told me I kept accidently bumping into them with it without me being able to tell and it is just overall cumbersome to hold all the time so is their anything I can buy so I can just carry/wear this on my back? There's this weird iron bit sticking out here (zoomed into in the second photo for reference) and I have no idea what that's for and I was thinking I can loop something through that? But I'm unsure if it will break or not. Any suggestions or ideas?
