Accident @Dundas near University, ~7 pm

Stumbled at this while walking early this evening. A car-streetcar accident, resulting in major disruption just around the end of rush hour, with multiple streetcars piling up, both ways.

Not sure what exactly transpired, but my guess was that the car tried to enter Dundas westbound from Simcoe, and tried to beat the incoming Westbound streetcar. Some noticeable damage in the Westbound streetcar, not to mention the car.

A few photos of my journey through the Mine Line (2017)

The Mine Line was a JR West line connecting Asa station (in the Sanyo Main Line and Shinkansen) and Nagatoshi. Some trains also did run through to Senzaki (on a short spur of the San'in Main Line).

Relatively short, and covering very sparsely populated areas, one 1-car wanban KiHa 120 DMUs, with a lovely colorful livery, were used.

Unfortunately, the line was damaged and fully taken out of service in 2023, and officially abandoned just over a year ago, August 2025.

Photos taken in a trip done 2017, when the line was still operational, and placed in rough chronological order they were taken.

I did not take many photos using my camera, so included are also some screenshots of a lower-resolution video I took of the ride.

~400% increase in speeding since Automatic Speed Enforcement cameras removed from Toronto city streets

After Doug Ford's "smart" decision to ban automatic speed cameras in Ontario, data shows a 380% increase in drivers going over 15 km/h (~10 miles/h) over the posted speed limit.

Yea, no big surprise there. So much for automatic speed cameras being "only a cash grab". Who's going to enforce speed limits? There is only so much police can physically do themselves.

Driving is a privilege and a responsibility. Paying attention to speed signs and driving within the posted speed limit is part of the job. If one cannot do that so, they should definitely be penalized, automatic camera or not.

In and around Nagoya Station

One of my favorite train stations. Multiple companies, with a wide range of infrastructure (at the station, and in the surroundings) and trains and liveries, and a gorgeous urban high-rise backdrop to boot.

From local subways and commuter trains, to numerous limited express trains and the Shinkansen, plus freight trains (which, in the absence of bypass tracks - numerous configurations of which have been considered in the past - have to go through the station) - you get it all.
