Switched from a Mid-Size (500 employees) to a Big Tech PBC (50000+ employees); but the quality of work feels very less satisfying

Is this the case with everyone? Do people just stay at Big Tech like QC for the money and the stocks and do a deal with the devil that they will do shitty work and/ or maybe with bad WLB?

I have always focused on being a better engineer and if this bad quality of work goes on, I might have to have to take bad harsh decision.

I would understand that people who decided to stay, it would have been tough:
- stock vesting
- increase in pay
- good benefits

But is bad work worth making this deal? Do people just stay for longer duration because they were risk averse, got too complacent, marriage etc? Why does it happen?

How to get into Google in 2026? How to get an interview, how to prepare, time it will take.

I have never prepared for Google, can someone please guide me on how people are getting interviews? What should I do?

How to prepare? What is the level of preparation that is required? What level of DSA?

Do company tagged questions repeat? System design if required then what depth?

I have 1 year 10 months of experience and I recently switched to a major PBC, but I am not liking the work culture and I am looking out. Please Help!

What are the companies of the next decade and how to get into companies like Palantir?

Can this thread become a space to look beyond FAANG and talk about companies that could define the next decade?

A lot of the most interesting work today is happening quietly across AI, robotics, semiconductors, biotech, climate, infra, and deep tech.

Would love if people could share:

  • Companies they believe will be huge in the future
  • Skills that actually matter to break in
  • Roadmaps/resources/projects that helped
  • What differentiates strong candidates beyond interviews

And an important one: how much does network matter?
If it does, how do you build it authentically and position yourself early in emerging industries?

Feels like we spend a lot of time discussing “how to crack companies” and less time discussing “where the future is actually being built.”

Can I crack Palantir, OpenAI, Anthropic kind of companies? What is the skill set required?

Can this be a thread to look beyond FAANG and the companies that are going to be huge in the future. Can people share roadmaps or resources to prepare for them. What is required?
- skill
- network

If network then how to work on that network. Please share.

I am joining as Graphic Engineer (interview was backend only). CR&D BDC team. My interview consisted of DSA, System Design, Resume (Design specific only) and a Principal Engineer round where again DSA and experience related questions were asked. I am not sure why the title of Graphics Engineer was given to me. The HR said that I have the highest band in Engineer and the next promotion should be Sr. Engineer.

I declined other offers and my joining is in May, I have been going through Glassdoor reviews and found many negative reviews regarding the WLB and RTO policy. Can you guys please tell me what to expect, this is my first job switch and I prioritised Qualcomm for the good brand value overall but the reviews are scary. How should I navigate through this situation, do you guys have any tips to share?
