Power trim help?

Never worked on the power trim before, so not sure what the exact issue is. When I trim the motor up, it seems that the hydraulic system doesn’t hold it up. It starts dropping and is back to its resting position after about 10 minutes or so. I sped the video up quite a bit so you could see exactly what is happening. How do I fix this?

Yall reckon there’s a way to convert this into a platform/step?

My wife & kids have a hard time getting back in the boat, and we don’t use the trolling motor anymore. Would rather use it as a step if possible. Let me know your thoughts!

Thinking I have my work cut out for me, and I’m willing to get it done.

I have a 1978 StarCraft Tri-Hull we recently purchased. We live in Arizona and it seems the heat is taking its toll on the fiberglass along with age. I have a series of small cracks in the topcoat that I’d like to repair, as well as a bigger area of damage from a pipe protruding from the dock (about the size of a quarter). I’ve seen a lot of videos on how to repair the bigger hole, but the areas scattered with the small cracks, how do I go about repairing those? And how can I match the color of the gel coat when repainting?

Thoughts?

Not sure if it’s from the new ignition wired in or if it has to do with the hydraulic fluid leak but it doesn’t seem to be getting power at all

Alright, I’m at a loss… Johnson 48 SPL

I’ve cleaned the carbs 4 times(rebuilt them on the last go), new fuel, new spark plugs, checked for leaks on the cylinders, tested the fuel pump solenoid, temporarily bypassed a bad fuse for the fuel pump solenoid… still running rough and sneezing with an occasional misfire. I don’t have the tools to test compression or the coils and I don’t have much experience with motors in general so I’m not sure if this is a problem with synchronization or if adjusting the throttle or idle screws…. Any guidance would be awesome. TIA

Looking For Some Guidance

I’ve been doing electrical for 11 years now. I did 4 years of trade school in California, took my journeyman’s exam there, then moved to Arizona. I made a switch from commercial work (primarily low voltage) to residential, and after working with a company for a few years, some life circumstances pushed me to venture off on my own, which has been a successful endeavor for me. As of right now, I am not independently licensed. I have taken the exam for my license but run out of time and came up 2 answers short of passing. I am planning on retaking my exam in the next month, but I am finding myself trying to develop a complete business plan before everything gets set in place.

I am in the headspace of wanting to specialize in something, just unsure of which direction I’d like to take that. I’m also looking to add some continued education and additional certs under my belt (aside from OSHA 30). Looking for some good recommendations in sites or places to widen my knowledge and experience. All in on the growth mindset here. TIA. 🙏🏽
