This is a good kickoff to the series…the anti-catholic bits are a bit fervent but serves as its own indictment. The one thing they didn’t touch on when they landed on Bob Jones University here in America that this werido institution had a ban on interracial dating til 2000. Two thousand!! this was a topic on here three years ago, things have obvs changed. Clementine used to be my go to but they seem not that keen on making the BLT anymore (this place has changed a lot since I first started going there and I’m glad it’s still thriving but most of the things I loved on the menu have left it). Where else makes a great BLT? I hear friends and family in Hollywood…

I want the sandwiches of my youth (which were at the old Hamptons inside the Wolfe’s market in Claremont, CA): rare pink roast beef, mustard. The minerality of the beef. The sting of the mustard or at least zest. decently piled on. Not gray, not dry. I miss those high school dashes for lunch. They also had this amazing red potato and dill potato salad. Pickled mushrooms. Dill pickle on the side.
I have an 8:29 flight out of terminal 5 on jet blue. Wanted to hit the CSR lounge in term 4. Heard it’s closed to CSR holders, however, from 1:45 pm til 6:10 pm. Is this true? If so, is it doable/worth the inter terminal scuffle?
This is probably a perennial topic but I wanna talk about fried chicken as fried chicken pieces. I do not want to talk about tenders, I do not want to talk about hot chicken. I wanna talk about actual pieces of fried chicken. I’ve tried almost all the ones I’ve heard being talked about, a lot of them are not very good. Among the best that I’ve tried are the occasional Albertsons, (Iykyk) Gus’s on pico, and my memories of Golden bird are still immortal.
What are your favorite places for fried chicken? Again I mean pieces, not tenders or hot chicken.
Edit: I’m just gonna list the places I’ve had it that I thought were meh: Honey’s Kettle, Crawford’s, Dinah’s (dry and thoughtlessly fried), Roscoe’s (nope).
