Pregnant Nanny

I found out I was pregnant back in June. I spilled the beans pretty early to my MB just because of the symptoms I was experiencing. I appreciate them keeping me around but MB has been hinting at an idea of when I’d probably have to quit. My NK’s are 7mo and 2.5yo. Has anyone been a nanny while pregnant? I have a feeling it may become challenging to continue with 2 kids while my pregnancy progresses. Am I being unfair keeping my job knowing it’s temporary?

Pregnant Nanny

Hi everyone. I just found out I’m 4 weeks pregnant. I nanny for a 2yo and an almost 6mo. At what point do I disclose to my NP’s that I’m pregnant? They’re really nice people so I’m not afraid but I want to go about this the right way.

I think former NK is a sociopath

I want to preface I do not work with these kids anymore however I agree to do some occasional date nights. I worked with them about 2 years. I was venting to my husband after date night with them about NK behavior and it clicked in my head that this kid sounds like he has sociopathic tendencies. It doesn’t seem like he’s growing out of any of these behaviors AND he’s medicated. It does not seem like an issue of brain chemistry for his ADHD but a personality disorder (although he is hyper). I see that he has no connection to other people and their feelings. He’s hurt me many times and has never felt sorry about it nor to anyone else, abuses the cat, totally self centered, always has to be winning or be in control of any game/activity (he will destroy the game if it’s not going his way), destroys things in the house, but is a very charming kid when he wants/needs to be. It’s crazy how he’s like two totally different people at times. I feel like after 2 years some of these traits should have gone away or improved. His behavior is so extreme he goes to special school where he abuses the staff. I feel bad for him but it’s one of those cases where I won’t be surprised if this kid winds up in jail when he gets older. He does not care about the consequences in any case. I’m just ranting here but has anyone else had NK like this 😭

Uninvolved Dads

I’ve been a nanny for a few years now and it still amazes me how many fathers don’t know how to care for their children. 2/3 families I’ve worked for the father can’t seem to be able to handle the kids by themselves. They’re loving towards their kids however I didn’t expect coming into this field how many men actually lack being a “natural father”. My previous family- the father worked an extra job just to pay me to be there when he could have been home with them. My currently family the father needs his MIL or his mom to help him if he’s alone with the kids when if not available.

Is this a 🚩? Care.com

I recently signed up for care.com and I got an incoming message for this job. I’m interested but a little hesitant because of course I want to protect myself. The person who reached out is a male. Has anyone else experienced this on care.com?
