I scratched my first rim today
That's about it. I want to cry.
I've been so careful parallel parking on the busy streets every day for work, but today I was a little too careless after 3 months+ of a clean sheet.
Etched clear coat repair
It's over 100 degrees F in the Northeastern US and despite checking my car daily and splot cleaning bird droppings when I get home from work, several have managed to etch their way into my clear coat within that 24 hour window. Photo attached, suggestions on specific products / methods / youtube videos would be greatly appreciated as i've never polished or buffed out anything. I've checked r/autodetailing and have a pretty good idea of the process, but curious on this community's opinion. Almost all of these are on the hood. Thanks in advance.
All season tire recommendations
I live in the northeastern US and the roads here are horrifying. I'm looking for a meatier all season tire to go with the stock 18s that will help fill out the wheel well a bit more and hopefully provide a slightly better ride. Bonus points if anyone can recommend specific spacers to provide a more flush fitment, maybe even a hint of poke. I need to buy these before winter anyway to replace the stock summer tires, so looking for specific brand / size recommendations others have tried and enjoy. Cheers

The sub's favorite mod
I ordered the Subaru JDM spoiler the day I placed my order for the car, and after several months of delayed shipping it finally arrived. However, after driving the car wingless this entire time, that look actually started to grow on me. I always liked the big wings on all the previous WRX/STi generations, but I have a newfound appreciation for the wingless builds that I didn't before. Nevertheless, here she is with it freshly installed. Apart from a few angles i'd shift to better fit the lines on the side of the car, I feel it does add "balance" to the back end shape and is overall a net improvement. Maybe one day i'll swap it for the slightly larger black OEM lip to keep things fresh, but until then we're on to the next mod.
Alright yall I have an idea, and am curious on your thoughts. A couple weeks ago, we discussed the inability of turning off the Eye of Sauron. I drove again today at night and it's actually a problem whenever i'm turning or going over bumps. I can literally see the LED bouncing up and down out of the corner of my eye. Extremely distracting to the point it needs addressed.
So... I'm going to cover it. I just have to. I am thinking of the cleanest way to cover that entire strip of plastic, and I think the most homogenous looking thing would be a carbon fiber sticker cut to fit that matches that of the door handles, steering wheel, etc. There are 1000 options online, but i'm looking for something that specifically matches (or as close to) the existing color/pattern in the vehicle. Any recommendations (or thoughts on covering that entire top stripe with the cameras/LED)
Update: Just purchased gloss black vinyl wrap on Amazon for $12. If it looks good i'll post pictures in a couple days as well as whether the car freaks out or not with that strip fully covered (beyond the amber light that driver monitoring is disabled)
Hi, I'm a newer REI member and am a bit confused about the 20% member coupons vs the upcoming Anniversary Sale. Hoping somebody can clarify for me. Despite being a member for about a year now, I've never received any coupons in the mail or email so am not familiar with how those work.
I'm looking to purchase an entire Yakima roof rack, and have been looking through past posts about whether these are excluded from sales. The rack I'm interested in is about 5 separate pieces, so a single 20% off one item isn't exactly what i'm looking for. I was hoping that during the Anniversary Sale here in mid May, these products were uniformly 20% off or am I misunderstanding?
