iPhone 15 says it's unlocked but it's still locked to one network?

I have never seen this issue before. It shows no SIM restrictions and an IMEI check also shows that it's unlocked. Yet only EE (UK) SIM cards work but I've used Esims whilst travelling which have worked fine, but physical Sims don't work at all unless they're under the EE network.

What on earth could the issue be? It's so strange

How soon is a start date after a successful interview?

Interview done - offer accepted for part time driving role - currently processing right to work checks now.

How long does this usually take? I've got an opportunity to go travelling with a friend through Asia for 3 weeks before the new university year starts, but I'm not sure whether asking the manager for a delay in starting would be a good look or not.

Nothing is booked so it's no big deal as I'd rather some easy income whilst I study, but figured I'd ask for opinions anyway.

Best accommodation option for a mature student?

I know if you go through Uclan own accommodation you can request to be put in with other mature students, so that feels like the best option? But I was curious if there's anything else, like mature student groups I could join for accommodation, private landlords etc?

I'm 29 so I'd rather avoid living with much younger students if possible

LCWRA and full time student/maintenance loan

As far as I can gather, you don't usually get UC whilst being a student but it's different for me as I'm currently on LCWRA and pip. What does this mean for me applying for a maintenance loan at uni? I've been a part time student until next month so it's all very confusing.

I also recently started work part time which puts me £200 over the UC threshold so my UC is already reduced by a small amount. Would a maintenance loan also affect the earnings threshold? Because honestly it would be nice to finally off UC but keeping PIP alongside part time work and the student loan.

Can you get testosterone at a pharmacy?

I didn’t bring my medication because I only planned a week over here and I wasn’t sure about security bringing it over here. But I have fell in love with this place and plan to stay a bit longer, but I might struggle without my injections.

I do have a prescription back home, but i assume that won’t work over here. Can I get it somewhere or is it prohibited/restricted over here?

Thanks

Do I need to go through passport control and security before a layover/connection?

Apologies if the terms I use aren’t correct, I am not used to travelling. I have a flight into Istanbul that lands at 19:15 and I am either staying in Istanbul for a couple of nights, or potentially getting another flight at 21:25 the same evening. I am only taking hand luggage but they are Seperate tickets and Seperate airlines.

How does it work? Do I need to ‘enter’ turkey and then leave the airport arrival section and re-enter the departure section and go through security and check in? Or do I exit the plane and go straight to departures? I also believe that Istanbul is a big airport with lots of walking and I am not used to travelling, so is 2 hours too little time?

Do I need to pre-book activities like horse back treks?

I have seen activities that you can book online such as horse back treks for a few nights, but can I just turn up in Bishkek at a hostel and book stuff from there? I’d rather give my money to actual communities than online websites who may or may not take commission or whatever.

I don’t know if this is a stupid question but I’ve never travelled alone but I don’t want to turn up and realise everything is fully booked.

Have I jumped the gun? Surgery due for next week

Now that time is quickly approaching, I am having some doubts after discussing it with people close to me. I’ve already spent £700 on deposits and flights which I can’t get back, but it’s also another £2300 after surgery.

Honestly don’t know whether to just go ahead with the quoted 1-2000 grafts or save my money and keep up with taking the medication. The only issue I really have with my hair, is having to use hairspray daily to stop the wind messing it up, and how it looks when it’s wet. Last two photos are wet hair, rest is dry.

Holding deposit if failed the referencing?

Applied for a rental, failed the referencing and letting agent kept asking me what I wanted to do. I kept replying saying that i want to rent the property so could they please advise me on what the landlord wants to do. I never said i was backing out of the application.

The letting agent then said that they can’t rent it to me due to the referencing check and that they will not be refunding the holding deposit.

As far as I’m aware, that’s illegal under the tenant fees act? I made an official complaint, heard nothing back. 4 weeks later I followed up on the complaint, heard nothing. I then made a complaint to the property ombudsman and no reply.

Am I missing something here? All that happened was that I failed the referencing check. I didn’t fail the right to rent check or lied on the application.

Are lead acid batteries read accurately by a display?

Bought my van a couple months ago and the batteries would empty after a couple of hours using just the spotlights and fridge. I figured maybe the batteries were old and dying so I replaced them with two brand new lead batteries at 130ah each. These use split relay and also a 300w solar panel.

They show 14v on a multimeter and the display panel when nothing is turned on, and then drop to around 12-13v when the electrics are on. But the display will go from showing a full battery to 80% empty after a couple of hours, but the electrics stayed on for hours afterwards with a TV, lights and fridge running. The display just kept showing 80% empty battery, until the next day when the solar started up again and the battery icon went up again.

The display is an Epever MT50 and is also very, very dim. Replacing the Ethernet cable fixed this for about an hour, and then the display went back to being dim and has to be looked at at an angle to see anything. This feels like something must be wrong but I have no idea, this is all very new to me.

So I guess my question is, could there be something wrong with my electrics and something is draining the batteries, or are the new batteries working fine and the display just doesn’t read lead acid accurately?
