Moving stuff to A-school help

Hello, I am currently stationed in Kodiak. No dependents. I have some questions about how I will be moving my stuff from the Kodiak barracks to my new unit after A-school.
I have a lot of stuff currently. Do I move it and take it all with me to A-school? Or can I ship from somewhere to my new unit after I graduate?

Advice for finding a rate?

Hello, have been in as a non-rate for a month now and that 4 month mark is ticking down. As of now, I've decided to just do the 4 years and get out, become a firefighter back at home. I want a rate where I get to do cool stuff and help people, but also learn valuable knowledge for being capable in general. I'm looking at DC (do they do SAR and LE?) as it might align with being a firefighter on the outside. I know BM and MK are more likely to be in on SAR and LE if on Small Boat Stations. I'm leaning towards MK for mechanical knowledge but I would hate to be stuck in an engine room on a cutter. The honest answer is, I don't have enough knowledge on any of this so anything I say may be wrong.
I appreciate any help, thank you.

Finding a firearm for safety in hiking?

Hello, I am moving to Kodiak, Alaska. I plan to hike there so I plan to buy my first firearm for defense against bears. I’ve shot and grown up around guns but still new to all the available options. I would also like something I could conceal carry on my person for self defense. A simple and reliable firearm not needing too much tweaking.

Thank you for any information.
