Beginner stuck because of PDI waitlist – Need guidance and a roadmap

I'm a complete beginner in ServiceNow and recently started learning the fundamentals through YouTube videos. I now understand the basic concepts, navigation, and how the platform works at a beginner level.

My next plan was to create a Personal Developer Instance (PDI) so I could start practicing hands-on. Unfortunately, my PDI request has been placed on the waitlist. I understand this is a common issue, but I'm feeling stuck because I don't know what I should focus on while waiting.

I don't want to waste this time. Could anyone guide me on what I should learn next without having access to a PDI?

Some questions I have are:

  • What topics should I study while waiting for my PDI?
  • Is there a recommended beginner roadmap that takes me from fundamentals to being job-ready?
  • Which resources (ServiceNow University, documentation, YouTube channels, blogs, etc.) would you recommend?
  • Are there any hands-on alternatives to a PDI that I can use for practice?

My goal is to become job-ready as quickly as possible, but right now I feel lost because I don't have a clear learning path.

I would really appreciate any advice, roadmap, or resources from experienced ServiceNow developers.

Thank you!

Anyone in Hyderabad bored and looking for company?

Hey everyone,

I recently completed my B.Tech and came to Hyderabad to stay at my relatives' place for a while. I'm honestly getting really bored and don't have much to do.

If anyone else is in a similar situation and wants someone to hang out with, explore the city, grab some food, watch a movie, play games, study together, or just chat, I'm free.

And before anyone gets the wrong idea—don't worry 😄. I'm a respectful, well-behaved person and just looking to meet new people and make some genuine friends while I'm here.

If you're interested, feel free to comment or send me a DM.

Calling all ServiceNow experts and professionals!

I'm looking for some guidance from experienced ServiceNow professionals.

I'm a complete beginner in ServiceNow and want to build a career in this field. My goal is to become job-ready and land my first ServiceNow job as soon as possible.

I'd really appreciate your guidance on a few things:

- Which YouTube channels are the best for beginners?

- Is there a roadmap I should follow from beginner to job-ready?

- What free resources, courses, or hands-on projects do you recommend?

- Should I focus on getting the CSA certification first, or build practical skills before that?

- What do companies, recruiters, and hiring managers look for when hiring a fresher for a ServiceNow role? What skills or experience make a candidate stand out?

Any advice, learning tips, or mistakes to avoid would mean a lot. Thank you in advance for helping a beginner!

I'm also new to reddit
