74 ATC70 Facelift

I have had this 1974 ATC70 for about eight years. The day after I bought it I tried to start it and ride it and the pull start broke. Since then is has been chilling. I often air up the tires to keep them from going flat and getting ruined. I decided it was time to get it into shape and make sure it’s still ran. I began by looking to see where my first generation ATC 70 pull starts were after finding them. I decided it was time to begin. The only real place to start though is by draining the oil and giving it a fresh .8 L of 1030. I put in a new spark plug. That gave me an opportunity to check if it had spark and check that the new pull start worked OK. I also replaced the fuel lines. They were pretty hard. I thought what the heck and I put in a fuel filter. Fortunately I’m a genius and didn’t think about the fact that I should have two of them and I don’t even want to hear it. Trust me I’m going to put another one on there before we know it. Then it was time for the test. I went ahead and put some fuel in the tank not very much because I still planned on doing a couple more things where I didn’t want a lot of fuel to deal with. I gave it full choke and made sure the petcock was to reserve. I watched the fuel filter filled with fuel then it was time to give it a couple poles. I took about eight of them before we came to Fire that was enough for me to go onto my next step. It was time to clean it thoroughly. Once I had it nice and clean, I switched out the old red grips that were on it that looked like they went on a dirt bike for some original ones that were in pretty decent shape. I tightened up the chain and then I lubricated it well I had some new fenders laying around than I went ahead and used for the back. I left the old broken one on the front for now. The main reason I did that is because I plan on replacing the front forks you can see in the photo that they are damaged and missing the turn stop. They are in pretty rough shape as well. I have some wheels that were sandblasted and powder coated that I’m going to use. Other than that I’m not sure if I’m going to do anything about the fuel tank and other cosmetic issues but I’m happy to hear what everyone thinks. I cleaned this thing for over three hours so go easy on me.

87 ATC 200X Restoration

I have a 1987 ATC 200 X that I’ve had for a long time, but I’m finally going to restore. I have a 1986 parts bike as well as some mint condition used parts to put on it. Some new old stock parts, as well as some parts that I have had sandblasted in powder coated. I still need to source a front fender. I was having a hard time finding the dash that holds the ignition switch. It is a one year this model only piece, Then I found a guy in Canada who is 3-D printing them so I ordered one of those and it should be here any day. These trikes had a really low production run of around 3000 units. They also were the only sports trike that Honda made in 1987.
