Civivi Baby Banter Slip Joint

I've been waiting on the slip joint version of the baby banter since I heard about it's relase 7 months ago, and just got it today.

It's good size for UK carry, being big enough for most tasks, whilst comfortably coming under the 3 inch limit.

As the knife is a little short, the handle isn't very long, meaning you naturally choke up on the knife, but the large finger coil with jimping allows for comfortable grip.

On mine the back spring isn't the strongest requiring around 550g of force to close, making its similar to a detent design like the Civivi Foldis.

The back spring keeps tension on the knife stopping it from closing untill around 30 degrees, which then it jumps to the half stop at 90 degrees and with the large finger groove it prevents pinching, tending to push your finger out of the way.

I've just take it apart to dye the scales and it came apart nicely, with just a little loctite on the threads and it looks well made.

I would recommend it to anyone who likes the design.

Is the chaparral slipit flickable?

I own several Spyderco slipjoint knives but I struggle to flick them open. I think the chaparral doesn't have a half stop, so was wondering if anyone could let me know if it's easier to flick open that other spyderco slipjoint knives, like the UKPK?
