The NEW Furaha theory (y'all are not gonna BELIEVE this one)

Remember when Storm #4 dropped and all the anti-T'Choro fans were pissed off because it was a Wakanda-heavy book and Furaha was as Black as a Shaft in Africa/Truck Turner double feature at Sheneneh's Sho Nuff Hair Salon? Well, y'all are never - and I mean NEVER gonna believe the new theory....that the daughter shown in Storm #4 - who clearly and repeatedly calls Storm her mother - isn't Furaha at all.

I...but...he said himself...*SIGH* Does it matter? Does it ever matter?!

Mind you, T'Choro fans were accused of copium even though the entire next arc was to take place in Wakanda and confirm T'Challa as king of the dead. Yet this take - that the daughter in Storm #4 isn't actually Furaha (because she so obviously has two Black parents) is perfectly acceptable. Why, this young woman is much too Black to be loved, just like when Rue from The Hunger Games "turned out" to be Black, much to the revulsion of fans who ignored the fact that Rue was Black in the goddamned book.

This isn't the first time they've denigrated the very existence of Black children, even referring to Storm and Black Panther having a family as "inbreeding" and refusing to call T'Challa by name. But this take is just...wow. I never thought I could be shocked into bewildered silence, but here I am.

The Royal Family, Nintendo style

For Tomodachi players, this pose isn't available in Tomo-Foto - it was a REAL pain in the ass to do in Photoshop and even worse to make in the Mii editor. But I think it came out nice! The closest thing I'll ever get to being an artist, that's for damn sure.

Princess N'Yami, Crown Princess Turkana, Prince Uzuri, Princess N'Dare, King T'Challa, Prince T'Wari & Queen Ororo. Note the children in plain school uniforms, not royal regalia - that's all Storm. 🥰

(edit: Stickied because Black children are NOT inbred and NOT to be erased!!! Also, I was thinking of T'Wari's eyes being green because of his powers, but I couldn't stand how it looked, so they're brown now.)

T'Choro kids as Black superheroes for Halloween (plus bonus pic)

Note that all of these kids are my OCs. From left to right:

Prince Uzuri as Maggott, age 9
Princesses N'Yami and N'Dare as Eany and Meany (they're twins, age 6)
Prince T'Wari (age 3) as Sam Wilson (I haven't written his bio yet) atop Turkana's companion animal Ojiji
Princess Turkana (age 11) as Misty Knight

First pic is from T'Choro Hall of Fame artist byekcs, who has been featured here often! Bonus second pic of the family outside of their clothes is by Breen_Tomi (X). The updated ages are 11, 8, 5 and 13.

Notes:

  • Uzuri was named after the Uzuri Tribe, which is Ororo's lineage (see Black Panther 60th anniversary special). He will go on to become Black Panther, but not king. Primary mutant power is animal manipulation.
  • N'Yami (the twin in glasses) is T'Challa's birth mother's name, while N'Dare is Ororo's mother's name. N'Yami will become queen (but not Black Panther), while N'Dare will become a Dora Milaje general. Neither of them have powers.
  • T'Wari is from an alt universe story written by Reginald Hudlin. He is a reconstructive surgeon who holds multiple advanced degrees (and is a bit of a live wire) Primary mutant power is plant manipulation.
  • Turkana is the name of the 1st female Black Panther. Primary mutant power is spatial manipulation. She also has numerous sorcery powers (check her bio).

Because after months of rehashing this fucking shit and niggas examining every goddamned man with pointy teeth, we finally have an answer. Furaha's father is officially identified as...

.

.

.

.

.

...fuck if we know. He's not mentioned. Well played, Ayodele. (Really.)

More important, we know who this chocolatey Black-ass, type 4c hair-ass, shea butter using-ass girl's father is not.

https://preview.redd.it/j49q0qxebgzg1.png?width=720&format=png&auto=webp&s=baa1d6da55b67cca70f99418f678250bb3c3c524

Seeing that the second half of Storm #4 is the unused script of Wakanda Forever, I dare suggest it's obvious who her father is/was meant to be. (The usual suspects will swear that this kid looks biracial the way they swear Kymera looks biracial, but we all know something is wrong with that ilk.)

Storm #5 is the last of the solo as confirmed by Ayodele, which makes me think that the T'Challa appearance we were slated to get this arc isn't going to happen at all. In other words, Furaha's parentage may never formally be confirmed, or even canon. But speaking of canon...it's pretty damn clear that Furaha is not. So all of this infighting and outfighting has been for fuck-all.

Now, depending on what you were rooting for, you can be very happy or very disappointed. I, personally, never wanted Furaha to exist at all - cute, precocious babies are always evil, plus it was ETERNITY'S vision - so I've hated her very existence from the beginning. But it's fair to say that we are probably all very relieved. And I really wish they had been able to reveal Furaha was an adult from the beginning, because *this* is somebody I want to know more about, you know?

Annnyway, consider this one of the few times we can have a thread that isn't solely T'Choro focused, though I would prefer it remain on the Storm solo along with the general comic discussion. (And the only Storm #3 discussions I want to be bothered with is from last month's Storm #3.)

Storm had four ships: Craig-from-NASA, Forge, Wolverine and T'Challa. Only the top two made the cut - here's how the vote went after the mass botting was culled.

#120: Storm/Craig: 59 votes
#57: Storm/Forge: 798 votes
#31: Storm/Wolverine - 1,884 votes
#3: Storm/Black Panther: 31,788 votes

Edit 51+ votes here

Poll w/over 125 canon ships; top 50 ranked. We got FIVE Black couples in the top 25...and the highest ranked one got some folks HEATED.

__

  1. Monet St. Croix / Synch: 5,007 votes
  2. Photon / Blue Marvel: 5,058 votes
  3. Sam Wilson / Misty Knight: 5,375 votes
  4. Miles Morales / Tiana Toomes: 5,407 votes
    3: Black Panther/Storm - 31,788 votes

Did we do the damn thing or what!? They'll swear we cheated, but we all know better. Here's the OP explaining how they did their best to get rid of bots.

Edit Very interesting thing. Had the bot votes been allowed to stand, Black Panther and Storm still would have made the top five (at #5). Proof that either way, the idea that this is some deeply unpopular pairing is just a lie. It's always been a lie. I would argue that it is certainly more popular now than it was back in the day, but that's because we have more social media and more ways to share receipts and dispel misinformation.

(gimme a minute to get myself together!!!)

Edit: Full results here! Let's just say a certain OTHER ship is getting their pointiest, whitest sheets together as we speak.

I'm not even going to lie to y'all. I didn't post the poll here b/c I didn't see the point - if we did well, we cheated and if we didn't, it's b/c we're hated. I also didn't think we'd do very well. In fact (like I said, I won't lie), I didn't even think we'd make the top 50. But the poll itself gave some SERIOUS surprises, not just this one. And I think had I posted it, we might have been as high as #2, so I'll never make that mistake again.

On the other hand, I'm glad I DIDN'T post it b/c it proves so much to anyone who wants to know the truth. T'Choro/Stormpanther isn't just a handful of hoteps shouting into the void. It's a movement. And it's not all Black people, either - there's no way in hell, 32,000 votes came from just Black folks, though they'll swear that's the case.

Put some respeck on our name - that's all we've ever asked for.

A three-for-one today! The first pic is N'Dare 1/2way through her training, the second is N'Dare as a two-time Olympic champion and the third is the then-and-now shot. Lore is here.

Also: lore for Turkana, Uzuri and N'Yami. Last but not least, Prince T'Wari!

Finally, something to control my chibi addiction. Any other players?

*edit* D'UH. It's on Nintendo Switch, though it's possible to play on PC if you've got a decent rig. Some are able to play it on Android tablets as well, but it's a real pain in the ass.
