The Abdication of King T'Challa by Pedro Sketches

"You knelt as a princess. Rise as Queen N'Yami, Empress of the Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda & ruler of our country."

Lore is long as shit - and unfortunately, a lot of what got written this weekend didn't get uploaded to the Wiki and I don't feel like rewriting it. Long story short:

  • T'Challa and Ororo left Wakanda on some secret shit, making Princess N'Yami Queen Regent of Wakanda (a temp queen). By this time, both Turkana and Uzuri have abdicated (along with N'Dare cuz why-the-fuck-not), so that's why the third-born will eventually become queen.
  • N'Yami's fuck-ass Nigandan fiancee, who has some very bad advisors, see this as a great time to overthrow Wakanda, rather than Zyad marrying N'Yami to join the two nations.
  • A double agent reveals this information to N'Yami. The country has about an hour to prepare for the Nigandan invasion. What they don't know until later is that all the surrounding counties (Mohannda, Azania and Canaan) to attack from all sides; the Nigandan offense is to draw Wakanda's forces to their border, leaving the other borders unprotected.
  • When this is finally realied (long story) N'Yami and her siblings make a pact that they will handle this in-house - no calling Mommy and Daddy and their Avengers/X-Buddies/etc. Wakanda will stand or fall tonight.
  • With this, someone (I'm not sure yet - probably Uzuri) will fly on Razorbill to Switzerland and inform T'Challa and Ororo that their daughter has barred them from entering Wakanda until the battle is over, and that they will be arrested as invaders if they do not.
  • The invasion fails miserably. It's so bad that T'Wari is nearly brought up on war crimes and a formal inquiry is held.
  • Once the invasion over, T'Challa is called back to Wakanda to accept surrender terms - N'Yami cannot do this b/c she is not a sitting monarch, only a regent. T'Challa says "fuck that - I wasn't even there." He then tells N'Yami the real reason he and Ororo left Wakanda, admits his time as king is finished and that all he really wants in his twilight years is "to do science and Storm".
  • T'Challa crowns N'Yami queen so that his children can accept the victory and begin a new era of Wakandan dominance.

That's a lot of back story, but...*shrug* Anyway, enjoy! If you have an X account, show Pedro some love - my account is shadowbanned to hell and T'Choro art is hardly ever seen.

"They traveled together for a time, the happiest time of her trek." Series by jennipond

I started thinking long ago about how until the Hudlin run, Storm likely had no pictures of herself in childhood, and her grandparents could only provide the first six years. So I came up with this long-ass (unwritten) back story of how the camera got stolen from the Dickey miniseries was eventually found years later, and while most of the data on the memory card was corrupted, a couple of pics survived. The daughter of the now dead photographer reached out to...whoever, and the pics were finally shared w/the royal couple when they were in their mid-40s or so. Recall that Lifedream canonically placed Storm at 30, so the camera Storm uses in the 4th pic is ancient for a reason.

1st pic: T'Challa snuck and took it when Storm wasn't looking
2nd pic: A nice gentleman offered to snap a picture of the "lovely teenagers in love" (before he tred to run off with it)
3rd pic: Storm trying to figure out how the camera worked

The Day T'Challa Broke the Internet (WIP w/artwork by Nick Thomas)

A flash of anger shot through Ororo's body, so intense that it made her hands shake. The world could have the king and the diplomat and even the six-time Sexiest Man Alive. But this T'Challa, with his gorgeous smile and easygoing manner, was hers and hers alone. He's mine, Ororo thought as the photo blurred before her eyes. They can't have him!

A soft rumble of thunder filled the air. "I really am hormonal," Ororo said aloud. She could almost hear T'Challa teasing her - poor Turkana had gotten her temper honestly. What harm could a viral picture do? Let them see my husband for who he truly is, Ororo thought, sitting up to take deep, calming breaths. When the media was doing tearing T'Challa down - and country and his marriage and even his children - this was the man who remained. Husband and father, son and brother and uncle-to-be, smiling and unbothered with the diadem of Earth's mightest mutant over his heart.

Ororo had forgotten how beautiful T'Challa was, inside and out. Still, it wasn't until Ororo started reading the comments that she realized what was causing all the commotion. By the goddess...

Thoughts on T'Child pairing w/Storm (the SOLE MCU thread allowed for now)

This has been weighing so heavy on my heart. Recent rumors are having it that Storm will be introduced in BP #3, and that it'll be a "coming of age" story featuring T'Challa's son Toussaint and his road to becoming Black Panther (or not).

Personally, the idea of this makes me sick, and not just b/c T'Challa won't be recast. Let me be clear: taking a legendary character like Black Panther and turning him into a borderline deadbeat baby daddy is revolting to me. I didn't give a whistling fuck about Storm's bastard child Furaha and I give even less of a fuck about T'Challa's bastard child. I hope Ryan Coogler burns in the hottest corner of Hell for holing T'Challa hostage, Sinners be damned.

As for pairing Toussaint with Storm, I think the very idea highlights what T'Choro Tribe has been saying for ages: this is not about wanting two pretty Black people together. This is not about wanting Storm with Black Panther. This is about wanting T'Challa, son of T'Chaka, with Ororo Munroe. Putting Storm with some random-ass dude in a BP suit is the height of "here-ninja-damn" while winking at the comic readers at the same time. "It's not REALLY T'Choro, y'all!" Blackbaiting at its highest peak.

And yet...as much as I want to scream boycott, I have to acquiesce that if T'Choro 2.0 bombs, it might do great damage to T'Choro as a whole. I don't know if our aggressive Ayodele hate is what denied us the Wakanda run he was planning before the cancellation, but that is very much a possibility. Also, representation is still a motherfucker. Seeing Storm and T'Challa onscreen - even if it's T'Child - might be more important overall. Lord knows it's going to be beautiful as hell, regardless of casting. Most of all, it's going to make the T'Choro haters drink copious amounts of bleach.

So here's the question: is there an acceptable pairing for Storm in MCU w/T'Challa's son and not T'Challa himself? And if this is the road Marvel goes down, will you support it or not? Part of me wants to see this bomb in spectactular fashion, but I know that if it does, we'll never get another shot at seeing Storm with T'Challa or ANY other Black love interest on screen ever again. Hell, we'll be lucky if we even get a Storm with two Black parents cast. But putting Storm with a BP who is practically her son? Gross. Just...gross.
