Adhd medication

Does anyone battling with sibo take adhd medications? I am currently on concerta but due to my on & off gut inflammation i find dosing extremely challenging.

For a long time I had no idea wtf was wrong with me. I did a process of elimination diet and realized I couldn't consume fermented foods especially sourdough/vinegar. I can handle white bread to some degree but I find its best to just avoid it.

Some days it feels as though I need 108MG and even then it isn't enough but when my gut health seems to be improving I only need 27MG +18 it's really frustrating because if I take too much my entire day is basically ruined.

Im leaning towards going back on instant release or even sustained release ritalin because that way I could control my dose easier and worst case ontario it only lasts a few hours vs 12 hours straight if that makes any sense?

My brain is very foggy right now. For instance yesterday went so well I thought I was cured and back on track but today I felt like complete shit and the only way to ease off the side effects was if I took oil of oregano.

Ive been like this now for around 2 years. I am slowly getting better but i am starting to get really fed up with this shit. If anyone in similar shoes can relate what are you doing to manage your adhd symptoms.

For context I have" crohns disease" I was on a ppi for nearly 14 years straight. Ive had well over 100 rounds of antibiotics over the years. Recently stopped PPI's a few months ago and changed my diet after experiencing whacky histamine intolerance issues.

Thanks

Generic issues

I was on brand name trintellix for 10 years without a hitch. But since switching to generic I have become an emotionally blunted mess with next to no libido and ontop of all of that I can hardly feel the effects of any stimulant paired with it.

I know for some, the generic works well but sadly, it doesn't seem to work at all for me UNLESS I crush the pill and mix it in water. I know that's frowned upon but this medication is technically instant release so both myself & my doctor fail to see the issue in doing so since it breaks down in your stomach immediately anyway (i wouldn't recommend chewing them that likely isnt good for your enamel).

I should note that I have crohns disease and have a lot of scarring in my stomach resulting in me having much greater success with instant release formulations for isntance I can hardly feel the effects of 108MG of concerta so, i think in my case it's more or less my stomach.

So, if you're someone struggling to get generic to work and you suffer from IBD related issues try crushing it. Your pharmacy will argue that you can't split or crush them but you can. The only reason they made them that shape was to stop people from getting prescribed 20mg and dividing them up to save money.

Med combos

Concerta 72MG, mirtazapine, 7.5-15MG *possibly adding 5MG trintellix*

For about 10 years I was prescribed 20MG trintellix and would switch back & forth between dexedrine and concerta.

I went through a rather traumatic event and my already preexisting insomnia worsened so I went on Mirtazapine. So far it has been the best medication I have ever been on and has so far been a blessing.

Since adding in the mirtazapine I have encountered a lot of issues with trintellix so I discontinued it. I didn't realize how bad my anxierty/paranoia was until I stopped it.

Since stopping it I have found it rather difficult to get my concerta to work with mirtazapine. 72 mg barely does it for me its good for 4 or 5 hours but after that im toast for the day.

I didn't realize that mirtazapine raises the levels of trintellix in the blood stream so I had my doctor prescribe me 5MG just to see if that makes a difference. (Haven't tried it yet)

I'm just wondering if anyone else is on a similar combo? If not trintellix what do you have added to the mix and do you find it helps with your energy/libido?

When I was on 20MG of trintellix 54MG of concerta was too stimulating for me so I am wondering if trintellix was the issue all along. So it may be beneficial for me to just look for something else to add in.

I'm aware I could raise the mirtazapine but I am kinda afraid of it. You hear so many horror stories about it! I am worried the higher doses wont be as sedating and that it would dull the effects of concerta even more.

I have tried effexor and at first that combo was amazing but I think I was having too much stomach issues at the time to give it a proper go. I also was battling with low iron but have since started supplementing so I am unsure.

Any insight would be much appreciated.

Hardwood flooring in a glamorous shed.

Okay so, I have a shed out back that is insulated from top to bottom. The subfloor has an insulated underbelly with a plywood top. This "shed" was built to code for commerical use if need be! *Bare in mind that this area will not have controlled heat 24.7. *

Therefore i am wondering on wether or not I should paint the subfloor with a moisture barrier paint and lay down tar paper and use tight bond for the seams before i nail it down or should I skip the paint & paper and use floor glue that acts as a moisture barrier along with tight bond and flooring nails.

Once the floor is laid down I will likely end up adding a polyurethane finish for better protection.

****I am fully aware of the cupping issue as the seasons change! I am simply just wondering which method is less likely to cup the most given the circumstances. Worst case ontario it will eventually end up looking weathered whereas this place is just my man cave to escape the chaos so that possible outcome is fine by me****

Cheers 🍻

Concerta: 72

Mirtazapine:15

Originally I was taking 20mg trintellix and 20MG dex twice a day. But my trintellix was giving me issues after 10 years.

In fear of sexual side effects I went on Mirtazapine. Ive been on mirt for 2 or 3 months now. I couldn't feel dex at all... so I gave Concerta a go.

I started taking a 54 first thing in the morning and barely felt the urge to get out of bed. Where in the past while taking concerta and trintellix I felt like a crack head 🤣

I tried 72 today it was slightly better but I was reading on here that someone is taking 90! with 15 mirt. My doctor and I have a great relationship but idunno about her going to 90.

I more or less want to see if anyone else is on this combo and experinced similar problems. I have tried the rocket fuel combo in the past so i'm wondering if I need to add in 75mg effexor to help give me a boost or should I try a different combo. I have been enjoying the sleep aid benefit of mirt.

I have heard of off label 108MG but im in canada and a lot of doctors are pretty strict on the whole 72mg deal. So if you were in a similar situation id love to hear what ended up working for you.
