Disinfection of fishing gear on long hiking Trips (Troms + Finnland)
Hi,
maybe someone can help me here.
I'm planning a long hiking Trip (2-3 weeks) mostly in the Käsivarsi Wilderness Area of Finnland (North West part of Finnland). My Plan is to go also to some Lakes on the Norwegian side (Troms, covered by Statskogs Norgeskort license) as I will be close to the border.
Problem is that the fishing regulations for Troms state that fishing gear need to be disinfected and I need a certificate after fishing in a foreign country.
Of course I respect these regulations but my Problem is that there will be no way to disinfect the gear in the middle of nowhere. I can of course make sure that everything is completly dry when changing waters, maybe I will even carry a second rod, Reel and Flys for Norwegian waters, but I will not have a certificat.
I completely understand the Risk of parasites to the Salmon population, but i will be far away from salmon waters.
I guess I'm not the only one hiking and fishing in the Border region between Norway and Finnland or Sweden, so how is this handled, should i just avoid norwegion waters at all or is there a solution for this?
