If You’re Applying for Jobs in the UAE, Stop Counting Applications
If you’re looking for a job in the UAE, stop measuring progress by how many applications you send.
Sending 100 applications isn’t necessarily better than sending 20 well-targeted ones.
A simple approach:
• Pick 2–3 specific job titles you’re actually qualified for.
• Tailor your CV keywords to each type of role.
• Keep your LinkedIn profile consistent with your CV.
• Track every application: company, role, date and status.
• Follow up when appropriate instead of applying to the same company repeatedly.
• Spend some of your job-search time networking — not just clicking “Apply.”
Most importantly: don’t let a lack of replies convince you that the answer is simply sending more applications.
Sometimes the problem is targeting, positioning, or the CV itself.
For people currently job hunting in the UAE: what has been the hardest part for you — finding suitable vacancies, getting interviews, or getting past the interview stage?
