ive added like 20 more since the first photo was taken but do i look like any of miis on my island of alternate universe versions of myself (im totally not self-absorbed)

i obviously dont look too close to zombie Cedar or slenderman Cedar but i really see myself weird anime nerd/pervert Cedar

i am aware the hair looks nothing like mine, they do not have the color or the curls 😔😔😔

i also am aware both my miis and i look like women
but unfortunately this is just an island where 100% of the population is male because i am also a male specimen

my first ever m&m character gasp!!! :0 (their superhero fit and civilian fit)

they do not have an official name yet so i’ve just been calling them Keiki (inspired by kēki, which is the japanese word for cake), but i absolutely adore them!!

Keiki is a totally normal 13 year old non-binary teen! Normal except for the fact that, every time they get really anxious or upset, they accidentally turn random objects around them into cake…
which has lead to some unfortunate accidents that have led to them being labeled a troublemaker (and some accidents that were not accidents at all that led to them getting expelled from school)

anyway i havent gotten into the mechanics of the character yet since im a brand new player, but i instantly jumped on the opportunity to design a character, since character design is something going to school to do professionally!!

ive only ever played dnd before and my many many characters are all horrifically traumatized. so it was so incredibly fun to make a silly little character inspired by harajuku street fashion and the “everything is cake” meme from forever ago

im super duper 100% open to and would love some name suggestions for them! the only official name thing they have is that their super hero name is Poundcake!!

im also open to just any suggestions/tips for playing them like mechanics-wise!!
the only thing i have so far is that they have the ‘transform’ power…

anyway, i hope you like them as much as i do :3

What are some mistakes/habits that beginner players have that might annoy everyone else?

Hiiii!! I am a brand spankin’ new player (like i didn’t even know this existed until my friend invited me to join) and I wanna know if you guys have anything any like pet peeves related to newer players! (like maybe some new players try to make their character too OP or a mary sue, etc etc)

i would just really really really REALLY like to know what not to do so i can make sure everyone at the table has fun!! :3

What to do if your dm just starts ghosting everyone?

hey gamers

so ive been in a campaign for almost 2 years now with some friends, and suddenly the dm was like “i dont want to do this anymore i wanna cancel it” and we were all like “ow okay um thats a bummer but youre an adult, we are all adults, you dont owe us anything and this is your life. can we ask why you dont want to do it anymore?”

and the DM was like “i feel like the story has too many inconsistencies and plot holes” and we were all like “okay, if we helped you retcon and fix some stuff and talk it out, would you want to continue to do that? and the DM agreed, so we did that, got on a long ass discord call and talked through the entire plot, took notes on what would stay the same, what needed to be changed, etc etc.

and once we figured it out we were like “okay! no pressure obviously but when do you think the next session might be?”
andddd nothing.

okay maybe they just missed a few messages in the group chat, no biggie, we talk a lot. so a few people messaged them privately. left on read. i tried a hand at it since im very close with the dm anddd nothing. then we found that they left another campaign we were all in, they were a player in that one but they left, which is like, that is completely fine if you dont wanna be in this campaign anymore we will miss you and your character.

so when that happened i asked “hey is everything okay?” just in general
they said “[insert name of a player] is lowkey emotionally abusing me.” and i said “oh my god im so sorry, im assuming you’ve talked to them about it and how their actions have made you feel?”

and nothing.

then i find out that player has tried to reach out like “hey i know you have a problem with me can we please talk about it? i cant fix anything if i dont know whats wrong.” and nothing once again.

we all know for sure they arent dead because they will occasionally text people but its very… sporadic and like irregular. like you will message them about something, they’ll leave you on read for 2 days, and then they’ll send you a meme and you’ll respond and then they’ll leave you on read and that cycle just repeats over and over.

so we are at a standstill. we all love our characters in this campaign so insanely much, and they were specifically built for the world our dm created, so we cant recycle them or put them in a different campaign, they just wouldnt be the same characters at all. and we were thinking about maybe finding someone else to dm, but we really really really REALLY want to hear from the dm first, but its just been radio silence, even for their friends outside of the campaign. one told us she hadn’t heard from them since March.

and it is just so difficult because i know like 99.9% of table disputes can be solved with communication but we are trying so desperately to make that happen. like atp its not even really about dnd anymore, something is just incredibly wrong and we all keep trying to help but are getting nothing. and i have no clue what to do. I’m the newest addition to the dnd group, i know everyone the least, i’m the youngest, im the most inexperienced player, I’m the quietest and i just want everyone to be friends again SO badly.

Mysterious slates not working… what do i do?

(spoiler just in case idk)

so i placed down all the slates and oopsie daisy, i guess i placed one down wrong because it didn’t match and nothing happened

so i assumed “ok so ill just move the slate currently in the i slot, i probably just mixed them up. so the k slate is probably in the i slot right now”

and then i tried to grab it and couldnt
so i was like “okay…. lets try to grab a few other ones….??”

so i tried to grab every one of the slates multiple times, but they were stuck (as i know they usually are when they are put in the right spot)

i thought maybe i just got a duplicate slate but i realized you dont get duplicates until after you fully finish the mural
so that means either

i somehow got 2 i slates and no k one
i got an i and a k slate but mixed them up, and something is causing the slate currently in the i spot to be stuck there
or
i am stupid

all are likely options so i have no clue what has happened here

is it a bug, am i genuinely a dumbass, or are both true at the same time?

[OC] Mashiro (my shayla) is back!!!

yayy!!!! i didn’t stop drawing them i promise! i actually am an art student and used mashiro in two of my finals, one was an illustrated kids counting book (top left teehee), and the other was a 3D model (not pictured because it kind of looks like dookie)

the counting book is called Morning Mashiro! it’s a counting book where it just shows them getting ready in the morning, counting things like how many bows or frills they have! i liked it but it was not very popular with my classmates….. at all, so im starting to kind of hate it. but thats the final page, featuring Mashiro’s parents (who im probably going to be naming Gregor and Franny because funny)!

the second drawin is just silly little doodle of mashiro seeing a cockroach! in the campaign theyre in, every pc comes from a different universe, and i imagine they dont see a lot of non-anthropomorphic cockroaches in theirs, so they’d probably be a bit confused if they saw one.

the third is just a silly doodle them munchin on something! you would not beLIEVE how hard it is to find good, high quality close up videos of cockroaches eating, so i kind of had to wing it. thankfully i probably wont have to draw them eating a lot since they actually hate eating in front of people and will just like sneak food away while no one’s looking and go eat it. which is probably why they look so guilty when they realized they have been caught

anddd finally, nothing canon, just a huge huge HUGE self indulgence. unfortunately for those around me, i am a homestuck fan. and whenever i make a new dnd character, one of my FAVORITE parts is figuring out their class, aspect, extended sign, lunar sway, all that nerd stuff (basically what my friend described as harry potter houses on steroids).
mashiro was surprisingly hard! butttttt they are a Page of Blood! Pages start off in the story as being kind of weak, whether thats physically or emotionally, but they grow stronger and stronger over the course of the campaign! And the blood aspect represents relationships/connections. usually very group-oriented people who are very loyal and passionate!

anyway huge massive rant over sorry! i always get nervous about not meeting the 400 character minimum so i start yapping and before i know it, i have written a whole essay about my silly little cockroach

thank you for reading this if you did!! i know its been a while since i last posted mashiro stuff, but i just love how much people seem to love them that i just couldnt help myself and really wanted to post more stuff of them cuz they are my shayla
