Opinions on DIY merch / hand-screenprinted bootlegs and reworked gear?

I’m getting ready to do a merch run for my band and I want to do everything myself instead of just ordering from a print shop.

I’m planning on hand-screenprinting on thrifted blanks and doing a lot of bleached/reworked stuff to give it a more personal style. I’m also looking into doing some "bootleg" style pieces, printing our logo on vintage Adidas, Kappa, and other sportswear I’ve found.

I’ve always felt like hardcore is the perfect place for this kind of DIY effort, but I’m curious to hear from people who actually buy merch at shows. Do you guys dig it when a band has a more unique, colorful, or "one-of-a-kind" vibe at the table, or do you mostly just want a standard black tee?
Just trying to see if people appreciate the hand-printed/bleached look or if I’m overthinking it.

Hi! New here, and new to Depop in general. Is Depop a place where I could sell my custom/handmande/reworked clothing? I sell on Etsy, but Im not shure if I like it or not. I also sell via IG and local internet markets, but would love something safe and international.

Does adding text usually make a design feel more "complete," or does it often distract from the artwork?

When you’re browsing for new clothes, are you more likely to buy something with a cool standalone illustration, or do you prefer having some text to give it context?

I’m really curious to see what the general consensus is. Do you think a original motif from unknown artists can stand 100% on its own?

Im a total newbie, but I just wanted to show some stuff I’ve been working on at home. I source the clothes from local thifts, do the bleach work (used some old doilies for the patterns), and print everything on my kitchen table using screens and vinyl stencils.

All the designs are hand-drawn by me and made the aglets from some old piping I had.

What do you think?

I’ve been spending a lot of time lately messing around with bleach techniques and DIY printing. I’m trying to go for a raw, alternative streetwear vibe. The «broken» one is just how I feel; too old to skate…

Everything is sourced from local thrift stores. Aglets are made from old piping.

Would love to hear what you guys think about the prints and the overall look.

Designs are hand-drawn and hand-printed, patches sewn on by hand, and aglets are crimped with a old pipe-wrench.
