Jesus, no one told me best shiny odd boost item is switch2

I finally got switch2 last week in anticipation for wind and waves, mostly being playing Pokopia.

Last three days or so I decided to transfer my unfinished scarlet save over to switch2 (left it half way through dlc 1, violet was my main save) .

But oh my god! With the handled boosted mode I can finally see stuff in the grass and shades clearly. And with the increased spawn distance/rate, the shiny odds feels sky rocketed!

Like 5 shiny just during ev training, finish story and run to 6/7 star crystal?

There are many ways to force shines across games for sure, but if we are talking about natural spawn shiny without intentional hunting, I feel SV on switch2 beats Legend:ZA even. I am almost confused lol
( That is, if you can spot them though 😂)

Wanna share some notes on skittish Pokemon mmo pathing after spent almost 7 hours for a togekiss

I want to start by saying , man this is the best pokemon game on switch, what have I missed all those years being a stubborn grandpa! I have many things to say but that’d be a separate post lol.

Regarding skittish pokemon mmo pathing:

  1. Use multi spawn method instead of MMO if possible , eg Basculin - nightmare to do with mmo , pain to do with multi spawn but much more doable since at least you can despawn them one by one

  2. The core idea to multi despawn without multi battle is to scare them off (for the most part when the red ! shows). After the animation started , fast travel to a camp and come back to make sure the spawn/despawn timeline aligns to count as a single multi spawn/despawn

  3. You can scare them however you want, throw stick orb, throw mud balls, throw berry, just walks up to them. Some has delays, your goal is to scare the correct amount within same time window before the first scared one despawn so you can do 2

  4. Use cake/ berry to reposition/separate them for your needs

  5. The easiest path is the one with least amount of none-“despawn 1” step

  6. Step 2 is the basic gist, but I spent many hours unable to execute it. For example, I can go scare all 4 of togetic , yet when I fast travel to camp and back, not all of them are despawned - what I eventually figure is , seems some species of Pokemon won’t just get scared off right away. They may end up attacking you if no one from the horde is attacking you already (instead of instant running away after the red ! mark). If you fast travel at this point, the aggressive one will not be counted for despawn since it is not escaping yet.

  7. After bunch experiments, at least with togetic, the behavior from 6 is almost guaranteed, while the opposite seems true too - meaning if there’s a member of the horde already attacking you and you scare rest of the horde, the rest will escape immediately.

So practically, I see that the best path I could use is 1, 1, 3, 1. So as long as I can despawn 3 at the same time there, everything else is easy.

What end up working for me is I literally just walk up to all FOUR of them, make sure they all get a red ! mark on their head and let the animation play for a sec to double check - As expected , one of them starts to attack, while everyone else starts their escaping route. I fast travel to camp at this point, combing back successfully despawn 3 of them and lead to the final shalpha.

I see there were relevant old thread touching those issue/questions but no one with a definite answer of what worked for them what not, so just wanna share my experience here too!

(I heard stick orb could force multi battle, but no matter what I do I can’t execute it out lol… plus they likely would run immediately anyway so)

Shiny Giratina in moonball after 30+ rng manipulate!

Giratina(O) is my favorite legendary pokemon, (and whimscotte is my favorite non legendary pokemon lol)

I played Pokemon heavily 10 or so years ago , still on nds/3ds back then! I am not new to rng manipulate, did a lot back then in HGSS, but sadly at one point I sold my 3ds/nds with the cards and all pokemon on them when I thought I have out grow pokemon.

Anyway champion kind kindled my passion for pokemon collection again , and I’ve being wanting a moon ball shiny Giratina sooo bad since. I have shiny Giratina on Pokemon Go already but moon ball would be sooo fitting!

After about 47 successful dynamax run in SWSH I start to lose patient with the dumb NPC allies and start to look for alternative.

I brought bdsp originally to get the ribbon and to solo evolve my shiny feebas a bit while ago , just learnt recently it has great RNG manipulate support too.

Anyway the plan is with RNG manipulate you have reasonable enough chance to get the shiny, which then allow me to reset for failed moon ball throws.

I’ve managed to cloud source 6 moon balls from various sources lol, after some test and what not, I’ve finally fully set up, though I got to say the blink thing actually take quite some waiting, I don’t remember this much stare and wait needed in HGSS 😂

I probably did around 30+ rounds of the rng manipulation, each round takes ~20min, got shinny 8 times. (For the failure ones, half are just off and the other half is just me mess up after losing patient lol, it is actually easy enough to hit )

And on the last run , I am lucky enough to just caught it with the first throw! I am literally so happy right now! 🥹 Time to get it all ribbon up!!

Finally done with the 15 reward battles grind lol

I know >!Floette!< is the reward of the 15th reward battle. But I didn’t expect the story is so hilarious/ridiculous.
“Actually, >!I am your grand mom and we decide to make you the CEO.!<”
“Oh really? [look at you] >!Here, take care of the team and this pokemon that had deep bound with me cause I am gonna be too busy being the CEO! You understand right?!<”
Don’t get me wrong, I am so happy to finally be able to battle along side my very own >!Floette!< in Champion. But damn the transition is so forced 😂

Walked right into an alpha shiny Trevenant ?!

Brought LegendsZA for the shiny hunt last week or so.
Finally made to post game recently but without shiny charm. Only saw one shiny Dribur the whole time lol.
I read lots thing about alphas and how to shiny hunt in ZA, so thought I’d give the static Whirlipede alpha a try, which well… prob not gonna happen without a shiny charm lol.
Anyway I started to clear the zones , and my god why Pinsir is so hard to catch! I had to reset the zone13 couple times and then I can’t believe it, it is a shiny Trevenant!
I was just thinking how I really like Trevenant and was gonna for sure shiny hunt this one later! I’ve collected many shines before but this one definitely takes the prize for most surprising/exciting! I wish I can give him a destiny mark… Time to grind the Trevenant badge in Champion lol
(And , I realize I still did not catch Pinsir yet…)

Can mass outbreak happens on your current location?

I’ve being resetting like 5 hours across multiple days trying to get a feebas mass outbreak, with water encounter 2 too, and it is not happening lol… I starts to think I shouldn’t stand on top of the crystal lake…
Or does date matters? I’ve being resetting into the same day… I wonder if I’ll never get feebas on the current date…

Hey guys, I want a legit shiny Giratina in a Moon Ball with my OT so badly that I am considering re-purchasing a 3DS (I had one before that I regretfully sold at one point...).

But I want to understand how difficult the grind is, especially compared to Dynamax Adventures in sword shield. (I’m writing right now because I’m too fed up with the NPCs...)

Since Ultra Sun and Moon only has like 1–2 Moon Balls per save, I want to understand if I can save the shiny state separately from catching it? Because if not, it is essentially a no-go...

I can get Dialga/Palkia from a local friend, so I’m not worried about that part.

Any suggestions/advice/alternatives are highly appreciated, thanks!
