What should I do before finishing the game?

Hey, made it to the last quest, got a warning that said i was to a point of no return if i progressed...

Was wondering if there's anything I should do first, like quests or something that might go away if I don't do them.

I'm feeling pretty confident about my team so not worried about that.

Thanks!

Weird Fantasy recs that aren't depressing!

Hi, I'm want to get more into reading Weird Fantasy and weird Lit because I've really, REALLY been enjoying it so far with some of my most recent reads.

Here's a bit of what I'm looking for:

WeirdLit books I've read so far and liked:

- Works of Vermin (LOVED THIS)

- The Tainted Cup (I am currently reading it, and I don't like murder mysteries but I LOVE the setting)

- Annihilation (great book, need to reread and read the rest of the series)

I don't know if the Emily Wilde's series counts as weirdlit, but I also enjoyed that one. I'm also a HUGE fan of Dungeon Crawler Carl (even if that's also not a weirdlit)

In general looking for:

- Preferably Fantasy (but I am not opposed to some sci-fi)
- Body Horror
- Bio-punk or Cosmic Horror
- Absurdity / WTF moments, I want cool monsters that make my jaw drop or moments that make me question what type of consumables the author was on when they wrote it.
- Anything that someone who wants to get into the genre should just make sure to read / Genre staples
- Quirky, loveable protagonists
- LGBTQ+ themes welcome
- Books that make up their own unique worlds, monsters, horrors, and so forth rather than reusing or retelling versions from other classics or mythos. (Inspired by is A-Okay)

What I don't like:
- Overly depressing or sad pieces. I don't want to read something where everything just flat sucks and it stays that way and makes me depressed about life
- No tragic Endings
- Stories set too strongly in our worlds, I want the weird stuff to be front and center
- I do NOT like murder mysteries or mysteries in general. (I am powering through Tainted Cup for its world, but even though I am enjoying it and it's objectively a GREAT BOOK, it's VERY slow going for me because I am struggling to care about the mystery element at ALL)
- No books in second person
- Stuff that is anti-Christian (or a major criticism of the religion or religion in general) or focuses on demons and angels in the same vain
- Stuff that rehashes Greek myths (I am so sick of Greek myths.)

Books I have on my shelf to read that I got from suggestions from another subreddit, but haven't gotten to yet just as an example of books I'm likely to pick up:
- The West Passage
- Piranesi
- The DawnHounds
- the Cautious Traveler's Guide to the Wastelands

I also have both of these two on my shelf to read but I'm not actually sure if they count or not as Weirdlit.
- Hell's Heart
- The Macabre

Thank you in advance!!!

Seeking Some Writing Friends!

Hi, I'm a 27 year old american adult seeking to grow my peer group a little more.

Not looking for betas or heavy critique but more so a hype squad type deal of someone to bounce ideas, share snippets, etc. I may be open to doing trades if we vibe well, but that's not really my priority. I wanna hear about and fall in love with your ideas and vice versa!

I am a serious writer who writes every day. I average about 40k-50k a month give or take. I also have a BA in creative Writing. (This probably should go without saying but I am also strictly anti-AI).

I have a track bear going so I'd love someone who also writes regularly that we can motivate each other. I absolutely HATE editing so anyone who does enjoy it might also be a good buddy to also help motivate me LOL.

I write (usually queer) fantasy and sci-fi. I enjoy adding in romance subplots (I DO NOT WRITE nor really read ROMANTASY). I sometimes write NSFW content.

I also love to read, my favorite books being Dungeon Crawler Carl, The Heartstriker Series by Rachel Aaron.

Atm I am working on a Weird Fantasy series with a touch of horror.

If you are an adult who enjoys the weird and macabre, loves to read and write regularly, and wants to connect, please DM me!

To weed out bots, please DM me with your favorite books!

What's the best alternative to Google Docs?

Sorry if this has been asked a MILLION times before, but I've finally pulled the plug and got rid of Google Docs.

I am a creative writer and sometimes write NSFW material. So between Google flagging something and deleting everything and more importantly all their AI junk, I'm over it.

I liked google docs for:
- the easy sharable and co-operative options
- ease of access across multiple devices and being able to just log into google and get all my docs

I'm considering Epllisus or whatever it's called, but was wondering if there's other alternatives that are recommended.

Is proton's drive still a viable option or should I be wary with their political alignments that they might start being fussy about what er, "spicy" nonsense is on their servers?

Money's not necessary a problem but i'd rather not have subscription fees.

Weird Fantasy - Adult: “Chronicles of the Flesh Artificer”…. Are you hooked? (more info in body post)

This is the opening of my novel weird fantasy novel - Chronicles of the Flesh Artificer.

**Minor trigger warning for Dead Animal** (it’s not graphic enough to warrant a NSFW tag, I think, but if wrong, mods I am SO sorry and I will take down.)

I want to know if you read this first 1.2k words in a book store or as the sample on Amazon, would you pick up this book? Why or why not?

Please with your comment list your favorite genres to read.

(To be perfectly honest, I’m posting this to force myself out of my comfort zone. So feel free to rip me to shreds lol)
