Hello everyone, We (32f and 30f) are a creative duo looking for a writing friend. It would be great to find someone to bounce ideas off, give each other feedback on our writing, and perhaps just chat a bit about our passion for writing.

The story we're working on together is an urban-fantasy crime mystery with a touch of romance and a hint of spice, set in Victorian-era Edinburgh. We’re combining a certain cozy charm with dark mystery elements. There'll be several novella-length volumes following the adventures of the main characters: A curious Sherlock wannabe detective lady and her gentle werewolf assistant.

It all started as a two-player D&D adventure with a setting we made up ourselves, and we now have 14 cases, plus additional spin-offs, which are being adapted into books.

… We've got a bit carried away. But we always have a lot of fun. As we're actually from Germany but write in English as non-native speakers (we write by ourselves, no ai), we'd particularly welcome a native speaker to maybe help us with idioms and the like. That said, we're also happy to just swap ideas with someone else and simply have fun supporting each other creatively.

Since we read mostly everything and more mostly genre fiction, we are open for everything. Really, if you are passionate about your story, we'd love to be part in making it grow even more <3

We mostly use discord to chat. And we are not looking for big groups because it's always so hard to fit in and we are both more introverted, than extroverted. So we'd love to chat in a smaller setting and maybe really become friends?

I’m Julia, 33, from Brazil, and I write romance—contemporary, fantasy, paranormal, sci-fi… basically, if there’s chemistry and emotional damage involved, I’m probably interested. 😂 I’ve been writing for around 20 years and recently finished the first draft of a small-town romance, so I’m in that wonderful stage where I desperately want to talk about writing all the time.

I’d love to find people who want to exchange ideas, scream about fictional characters, share WIPs, celebrate tiny victories, complain about plot holes, and occasionally send each other a completely unhinged message like “I just killed someone and now I don’t know what to do.”

I'm 49F. Just finished the first book in my epic fantasy trilogy and have started to outline the second.

I'm an English speaker who lives in rural France. I rarely meet other English speakers and even fewer reader and writers of fantasy. Most people here read literary, mystery or romance.

Writing is lonely work and while I enjoy the writing process I'd like to share work, critiques, worldbuilding ideas, craft ideas, or just catch up on writing life and woes with other writers. I'm essentially looking at a positive support group. People being there for each other.

I don't really care about your age, but I'd prefer interacting with writers who write fantasy and Sci-fi. I'm not into anything grim dark or horror. But I do love mysteries, thrillers, romance and literary fiction as long as violence and toxicity are not the driving forces of the story.

I'm 38F and a poet, though I've also written fiction, memoir, and essays in the past. I'm currently finishing up my first full length poetry book.

I'd really love to make some friends who are also writers. I can't do much critique because I'm very disabled and chronically ill. It impacts my ability to talk and type normally so I can't do a lot of editing but I'm happy to read a bit and give some general thoughts. Looking for the same.

I'm also happy just to chat with people and talk about writing and life, music, TV etc. Whatever we end up talking about. It would be great to have a close online friend who gets the creative stuff and we have those kind of things in common.

I'm sitting in the middle of a final draft of my first novel, so I'm looking for someone to share the writing process with.

It's a contemporary supernatural mystery about a duo investigating haunted objects, starting with a haunted Toby Jug. It's character-driven, occasionally dark, and there's quite a bit of humour in it.

I'm not really looking for a formal critique partner or anything too structured. More someone to talk writing with, swap ideas, complain about difficult chapters, and occasionally send each other something we've written.

Happy to read other people's work too. UK timezone would be handy, but I'm not fussed where you're based.

I can't pick favourite books but I suppose I can with authors. In no particular order:

I went from writing too much to not writing at all and it is getting on my nerves now. I have always struggled with consistency but when I get into something, I just get too deep into it and when I am out of it, I find it awfully difficult to get back.

I am trying to befriend a fellow writer to stay in writing zone for a bit if not long so that I get some writing done. I haven't written in a long time so just planning to either get back to my old projects or write something new. I mostly write romance.

After reading so many book as a kid and seeing someone in my school class doing written RP, I wanted to try it myself and over the last 18+ years, I did just that — write. I wrote many different things, like Screenplays in uni, short stories, poems (kind of), RP and a few attempts at writing my own book, but in the end, I never finished a story. I could name so many reasons why and I think for a long time I held myself back with them. But does it really matter? Today is just as good a day to start and try again as yesterday was.

I'm by no means a ray of sunshine all the time, but lately there's this odd, euphoric feeling, like a want to create something, to actually do it, even if it turns out rather bad in the beginning. Right now I'm working on something of my own and I've started planning a story and even have a prologue. It's a beginning and that already feels like something!

As much as I adore my friends, I'm looking for a real friendship built around writing (also outside of it). Not a writing partner in the collaborative sense (I'm not a good fit then but I'm always happy to exchange thoughts or give feedback if that's ever useful), but someone I can share ideas with. Someone who gets genuinely excited when I talk about a scene or a character, and about whose ideas I can get just as excited about. Someone to send a song to at 2am because it perfectly captures a mood, or a picture that reminds me of something from their story or mine. Someone to do the occasional writing sprint with, to have those conversations about what moves us, what we're creating, why we keep coming back to it even when it's hard. Honestly, it doesn't matter to me whether someone finally wants to write a longterm fanfic or their own (debut) book, in whatever genre, as long as you have the desire to write and to build a friendship along the way. I also know myself well enough to say that staying motivated isn't always easy and I think assuming someone will always be equally fired up just doesn't work. But that's exactly what a writer friend is for, to remind you why you're doing it and be there on the quiet days too.

So yeah after a lot of rambling, I'm (30F, CET) looking for a person (not a group) who is close to my age (25+) and wants the same thing. Oh, and obviously it doesn't matter if you're queer or bipoc. Safe space, everyone welcome!! (Would love to find other mixed/black writers tho).

Hi guys! I'm kinda new to writing a story, right now I’m currently writing my story that’s been on my mind for a long time now. Which is why I’ve finally decided to finally write my story now and make this as my passion project and hopefully publish this someday. My story is a dark fantasy adventure about a god who was punished by other gods to live in the mortal realm due to waging a war with mortals. So he tries to fix his mistake by doing labours and getting rid of all the witches in the mortal realm (witches are the major villains in the story). 

A little info about me: I’m 23, I’m in my last year of college, I enjoy watching anime, cartoons, movies, playing video games, and drawing. I began thinking about my story ever since I was 10 but I wasn’t able to write it yet because I kept changing it every year just to make sure which works better or which ones don’t. I am an aspiring animator who needs help from a writer to bring my story alive and it will be completely unpaid, I am sorry. 😭 Okay, so long story short, I am an avid reader who used to be kind of a writer few days ago.
