How to get better at reading math in research papers?

I'm currently doing research as an intern in ML and I'm having a really tough time understanding all the math that goes into these papers. I'm not the most fluent in linear algebra or statistics but I can get by. I am able to understand almost every paper I read at a high level but the math takes me an insanely long time even with the help of LLMs.

Are there any resources or tips for getting better and faster at understanding the math?

How can I make 2 broths for a hotpot without a divided pot.

Hi! I'm planning on hosting a vegetarian hotpot night with my family this Friday but all I have to work with is a large pressure cooker to make the broth. I want to make 2 broths however, and would rather avoid the hassle of using 2 pots. Do you guys have any DIY tips?

Also any hotpot advise is welcome. This is my first time making it!

How do I make time to study after my 9-5?

9-5 is a bit misleading. I'm currently in an internship until the end of the year, and I want to find time to study for grad school.

Commuting to and from the office takes me like an hour and a half, so my day starts anywhere from 9/10 AM and I get back home at around 7 or 8. After showering and dinner, I start studying at 10 PM, however, at that point I'm way too tired to put in any good hours and most of the time I give up and hit the sack at 12 or 1.

Anyone who is in a similar situation, how did you scrape out a few hours to study everyday while getting good sleep? I plan to going to the gym as well, but idk how thats gonna fit in.

Is reproducing or implementing a paper considered research? [R]

I completed my bachelors recently and I plan to applying to a masters program either this cycle or the next. Unfortunately, I did not publish any papers or do any research during my undergrad. Right now I’m in a research internship which is coming to and soon and it’s unlikely that I’ll get to publish a paper. I would like to know if reproducing results from a known paper for validation or extension or a comparative analysis counts as credible research. It’s the only thing I could find to do independently.
