Should a pro fix my nut or can I do it with a YouTube video?

While I was playing my 5 string, the nut randomly snapped/caved in underneath the D string. While making this post, I realized a piece of the nut fully popped out (as shown in second photo).

I haven’t repaired anything on my guitars before. I don’t know if I can salvage this or get a new nut, and I don’t know if it’s a home fix or if I should pay a pro.

Help me Reddit! Thank you

How to achieve this tone? (Wes Montgomery, Los Lobos)

Songs: The Town by Los Lobos; When A Man Loves A Woman by Wes Montgomery

I’m looking to replicate the clean tone of the lead guitar, which seems very similar in both songs. Can anyone give me an idea of what amp EQ settings and effects to use? Thanks

Why does Welcome to Paradise have two versions/What other Kerplunk songs would you have liked a Dookie version?

To my knowledge, it’s not very common for a band to have the same song on two studio albums. I think One of my lies could be a good addition to Dookie of they rerecorded it.
