A St Bernard, named Lady, my family loved, and I wish I had known.

The pictures are from about 1939 or '40 to 1942, When I was a teen, one of the little boys in the pics, the boy with hands in pockets and fancy hat, my dad, got us Samson, a gorgeous GIANT of a boy, but sadly, he had cancer and didn't live long. I have pit/chow mix and a chow/corgi mix now and together they still aren't the size our Samson was. Lady was beloved and had mythical folkloric status in the family. Many good stories. She was family.

The name of the beautiful St Bernard, pulling my dad and his siblings is Lady. Here she is as a puppy. Oswego, In about 1940 at Easter.

Their mom, my grandmother, called us all snicklefritz!
